  • MLB Texas at Oakland

Oakland just needs to win the last 2 games to win the division so why are they giving up on this game by starting Blackley?

Travis blackley a reliever by trade has made 5 starts this year going 18.2 innings and 20 earned runs.
    here is his line:
    Last to first
    Texas 1IP 5 runs
    Yanks 2 IP 4 runs
    Cle 5.2 IP 2 runs
White sox 5 IP 5 runs
    Balt. 5 IP 5 Runs

A's-They have 16 other healthy pitchers on the roster, they should just start a reliever and piece it together instead of this guy.

on the other side they are facing Harrision who is 10-3 3.03 era on the road.

Oakland is gonna need a big comeback in this 1 to win.

Too Bad rangers can't miss the playoffs their fans have become spoiled booing Hamilton who is 2nd in the Home run chase.

My heart is with Oakland, but my $$ will be on Texas-140,
I hope I am wrong and the A's get the sweep.
    good luck

    Yeah, good point.

I like Texas too here. I don't know why the A's don't just gop for it, although they probably had a good celebration last night too!

Rangers fans are babys....Spoiled. Hope they get beat in the first round!

I liek the Reds +116 over the Cards tonight too....Reds still shooting for home field and would love to knock the Cards out of the race for good.

      Woodee,
I disagree with your "babys" comment and I hope I can
change your opinion (at least just a little). The Rangers
have existed as a team for 40 years and have only 4 playoff
appearances. Unlike the Marlins and the Diamondbacks, success
hasn't come or come fast. There are some great baseball teams
in the state (Rice, Baylor and Texas), but nothing exists on
the pro level. Also, some great players have come out of
Texas and are recognized as great pro players. Despite being
a "football state" there has been a lot of successful individuals
in baseball. I think Ranger's fans are just eager to claim some
cred in a sport that they know and love. The respect for the
Cardinals last year was genuine and I think any frustration was
over the fact that the Rangers (games 6 &7) offered the Cardinals
nothing they could respect in return.

I forgot to add that Ron Washington is someone who
did "build it on his own" and I think (at least I hope)
most people root for their success.

Yeah, Sorry for the comments. I guess I am more disgusted at them booing Hamilton than anything. Not the fans overall. Josh is a decent guy and booing has to kill him inside.

Cards fans do not boo anyone (except maybe when Albert comes back?).

Thats my only beef with the Rangers fans actually and absolutley no disrepect to you at all!

If Texas did not play the cards last year, I wou;d have been rooting for them for sure. Wash is awesome!

That being said, I just bough tix to games 1 and 2 should the cards get that lucky to get past the braves in the playoff and the Giants can hold of the dodgers to let the cards back into the WC game tonight.

Nothing better than playoff baseball in person!

Good thing I called out Blackley, He super surprised me by pitching the best I have seen. Now I feel the sweep!.
No wager just rooting for what seemed impossible at the beginning of the year.

Washington Rangers skipper is great, of course he was molded in Oakland.

Typical that Giants would put the fork in the dodgers.
            good luck
