You might say that 2004 has been a pretty productive year for Boston fans....Heck, with the Patriots winning the Super Bowl....the Red Sox winning the World Series....all they need now is for presidential hopeful John Kerry to win next Tuesday to make it a Triple Crown....Who knows?.....Stranger things have happened......Anyway, if it does, I would then have to salute them with a "Lewinsky-Dipped" victory cigar.....let's see what happens.....Saw a bumper sticker the other day that said, "Lick Bush and Dick in 2004"....not bad....I don't know, it must be a full moon or something......Anyone besides me think that Tiger Woods might be doing a little better on this year's PGA tour if tournament officials placed a little bit of blonde hair around the cups....I dunno...Just a morbid thought......Does anyone know the Over/Under on Drew Bledsoe interceptions this week?......O.K, O.K. I'll be nice as I get ready to head to Paris (Las Vegas that is) for my annual Breeder's Cup shallacking and hope to make the Forum readers a couple of bucks themselves......As promised here a couple of weeks ago, let's get down to business......First of all, even though I'm no money management genius (although if I were, I'd be rich since I'm not a bad handicapper), one could do alot worse than to be betting to SHOW on the Breeder's Cup races.....History and stats will show you that 3-1 horses seem to find a way to pay $5.00 and $6.00 bucks to show and then some.....I'm not sure what causes this, but it might have something to do with the huge national pools being funneled by people who bet the ponies once a year......Whatever, there IS a horse that'll be 10-1 or so that might be worth a shot, and his name is OUR NEW RECRUIT in the sprint race.....Without getting too deep, let's just say that he is in the hands of a very underrated trainer, he trounced pretty much the same field in Dubai a few months back, and even though he's only had one comeback race, the trainer wasted no time in noting that the horse came back better than ever.....They skipped the Ancient Title Breeder's Cup Stakes with him to make sure he wouldn't "bounce", and why overwork him when you come back off of a 4-month layoff runnin' 1:08 and change?.....If he handles the Lone Star track, it's Christmas in October.....Other probable winners include SWEET CATOMINE in the Juvenille Fillies, SPECIAL RING in the Mile.....and an odds-on KITTEN'S JOY in the Turf.......Whichever way you go, Good Luck to all.......This dog's headin' back to his cage.
