  • If your bookmaker BET $250,000 per game...

Would you be worried? Or would that not bother you? This is a serious question.

Of course it would bother me. Butg like I said to JJ, if you have some information why not just tell us? Why all these guessing games. I wanna come in here to get info, not play 100 questions.

It's common knowledge that half the major books out there bet. Pinnacle, Olympic, Rio just to name a few. Those are the major ones. Hey, so far so good right? They've been betting from daqy one!

I think this is like anything else....if it is done in moderation, then it will work out. It is the books that bet with money they don't have, and use it to try to get ahead and make ends meet who get in trouble with it.

You guys are missing the most important aspect of this scenario. What happens when one of these well intentioned bookmakers gets stiffed for a mill or two and then can't the suckers who bet into him????????

That's a valid concern, but that could happen any number of ways. Bookmakers, even offshore, are relying more on credit again because of the crackdown on post-up funds.......so the liklihood of a stiffing is more certain.

All of you have some valid points, but the only major disator that be had last year with Sports Market/Aces God. The problem SM had was not betting. Charlie was booking some of the other Sports Books who beat the shit out of him........

Again, remember some of the Big Books could take a 5 million dollar hit and not blink an eye..............

Steve, very, very few books could take a 5 mil hit and not blink an eye. Not these days. I can think of maybe 2.

Dragon you are correct is stating that very few books could take a 5 million hit........but there is more than 2. I only play with those type of books. I only play with one book that bets.

I bet you play with more than one book that bets but don't even realize it. Unless you play with very few books.

I'm not a sharp or savvy player and I can probably name 5 books that bet. These guys aren't in business because they like to knit. They like to bet.

Posting money with anyone you dont know i.e. any book is risky. They have our money and they make the rules. We need to keep limits that we are comfortable with at all of our outs. If a book goes down from mis management or just plain stiffing the player that is very unforunate but it is a risk we are well aware of. doesn't make it right or feel any better to say that but we need to know it can happen. Tonyo is right........and it can also happen when you play on credit. Not getting paid by a bookmaker is as old as betting itself.........unfortunately. Play long enough, good chance you'll get stiffed.......
