What happened to this forum?

This place used to have so many posters and good info..It seems now therx. is the place to go. How did this place go so far downhill?

Good question, I can't answer. As for me, I got busy starting a new business this past year and haven't posted regularly.

It's baseball season - time for the die-hards. I found a new hobby for now - Casino Chip collecting.

I'll have more to say during the NFL; baseball is too much a grind for me.

The main reasons I suppose are the growth of the internet.....

Let's face it, this site was the first of it's kind. This site spawned many other sites, such as former posters starting their own sites and forums and having some posters follow them over.....

That's the nature of the business/industry......but things work in cycles. Those sites will experience the same growing pains we did and will spawn even more sites......

We're not going anywhere and I'm sure in time the forums will pick up again.......

I find that other sites have the right idea in keeping individual forums separate. This one chunks everything into principally one, so if I want to view new posts, I may get 20 tout posts and no "real" new stuff. So I have to weed through all kinds instead of honing in on what interests me.

I know you said earlier this year (to a similar post I made) that you got requests to keep all contests in the main thread, too, to make it easy and quick. But I don't find that to be the case at all.

(By the way, the forum front page, with all the old contest forums, should at least be updated).

But that's just one person's opinion.

We have cleaned out the forum contest area and you should find that everything is fresh. If you see something that seems out of place let us know.

The only way we can know what you all want to see on the site is to have you tell us. If you think there is something that needs to be highlighted more, or that needs put in a different place, let us know.

We did try moving the contests in Bookie's Hell to the contest section, but some of the posters (mainly the guys running the contests for us) complained so we moved them back.

Let us know what you think! I'll start a separate thread for Bettorsworld suggestions.

Thanks for the reply (and so quickly!). I'm sure all is well in Bettorswrld-land. Just a slow time right now. As I said earlier, as the NFL rolls around, so to (I think) will the traffic.

I do not think anything happened here, page hits are still high and look at me very rarely have posted here but look 3 times a day at the site. I am going to try to post more here. This site will be the top site again, like jeff says it all runs in cycles and i am jumping in, some real Hall of Famers started here and then moved on, maybe some will come back.

Welcome jjgold! Hopefully more will follow you. You always have interesting insight on topics and add a lot of value. Glad to see you back. Beats the hell out of talking about who is doing what over Easter and how people got their posting name.
