Hey Cons, could you elaborate? Are you the player? I have had an account there for a long time and never had a problem.
Although I would like to use this opportunity to vent
I played a game at Olympic the other day that ended up moving and was "scolded" for it. This shocked me. This isn't something I would have expected from Spiro.
These accusations are pretty serious. I'm not sure what you are talking about. Please explain exactly what happened to your friend. I've worked hard to built my business and my reputation I definetely don't deserve unsubstantiated accusations.
First I apologize for not responding to this thread sooner. I've been away.......
At this point Olympic and Spiro have to be given the benefit of the doubt. They have been an elite sportsbook for many years.
I haven't heard from anyone at Olympic but more importantly havent heard from Cons yet.
I have known Cons since the inception of Oddswiz/Bworld 6+ years ago however, so we'll give him another day to contact me before deleting the thread altogether.
Cons, please contact me asap with the details. The way it stands now it's just not fair to Olympic to let the post stay without some explanation.
Everything has been RESOLVED now but in short this is what happened:
1) friend bets a soccer prop
2) match is postponed to the following day
3) Olympic decides to cancel all wagers and refunds clients' funds. All bets are off.
4) prop opens up next day, friend still wants to take it so he pushes back the money: same prop, same stake, same odds.
5) we do an audit on his account and there's money missing. Hmm. We can't figure it out so we get a rundown of all recent bets by phone. One stands out. Which one? The same prop, same stake, same odds one. They are basically trying to hit him twice for it, even though they cancelled the first wager and returned the funds to his account... which is the reason he re-placed that bet.
As mentioned everything has now been sorted out - KUDOS to Spiro/Jetman for taking care of the matter personally!
I have to mention though that Wally has been highly unprofessional in all this, refusing even the decency of exchanging a few words with him on the phone. Even after receiving an email from Jetman explaining that everything was settled, there was still a negative reply from Wally who was probably unaware that the matter had been resolved.
I know that Olympic (staff,at least some of them) tend to rub clients the wrong way.
I am an olympic account holder and will continue to be as long as I have faith in Spiro which I do.
cons -- maybe next time you could give full disclosure before you throw stones. As it turns out , this situation was handled very professionally . Unfortunately your headline remains about Olympic stealing money out of peoples accounts.
Next time wait until you get back from the raiders game before making unsubstantiated accusations .
I agree though some of the staff at olympic could use a class on courtesy.
Juggler, let's get a few facts straight. I will speak in the first person becaue I handled a large brunt of the communications with regards to this matter.
First of all the situation was handled unprofessionally at the outset because it didn't reach the right people. I even wrote to them stating that there's no reason for me to take this to the forums because they can clearly see what is going on. Nothing worked though and Wally refused to even pick up the phone - customer attempt to speak to the manager was simply discarded. What would you have done in this situation, Juggler?
Things really looked bad. I got an excuse about "emailing all customers about this" (...uncancelling bets?!?) but this wasn't the case - and yes, the email address does match so it's not like it could have gone to the wrong address. I wrote to them and specifically asked them to check their records because no such email was received. And now after the matter has been resolved I still got an email from Wally along the lines of "we don't have the records any more but I still don't see us doing anything wrong here." Geez...
To sum up I have to say that Spiro and Jetman acted like gentlemen and I will edit the post(s) in which I might have put Olympic in bad light as a result of this incident. I only wish I would have spoken to them directly instead of running into brick-wall'y, because it only raises suspicions if the manager himself treats you like this. Have Spiro look at the tapes to judge for himself.
Once again, KUDOS to Olympic Sports for rising to the occasion. The person on whose behalf I was acting as well as myself have been with Olympic for a few years now and neither of us has ever had a problem there. To put it straight Olympic is a top-class operation, and I think we can both benefit from this experience.
I never had any dealing with Wally and from the sound of it, I don't want to. Maybe Spiro will take time to listen to the tapes.
My stay at Olympic was short (they took all my money - honestly), but as prior experience has shown - Spiro handles eveything with class. If there's one better, I haven't met him.
