Brian, I don't need some on-line rag to tell me BW is the best watchdog site. Most people with common sense already know who was the #1 Watchdog. But, congrats are in order. Keep up the good work. SAT

LoboLoco, I have a friend whose name is Oso Lobo. Of course Lobo means wolf in Spanish and Oso means bear. His name is Bear Wolf. I thought Loco meant crazy. Would your name be Crazy Wolf? Are you at liberty to say which sports book you work for? Thanks, SAT

thats great -- as the #1 watchdog ...just curious as to what specific steps are you implementing to ensure that any Book that advertises on this site doesnt go belly up like NewAgeBets? having a forum for account holders to post is great but here are some a few ideas if you would like to be more proactive ...

                      1) dont allow any book less than 5 years old to advertise
                      2) have a book show you a certain number of accounts in place before allowing them to advertise here
                      3) ask them to keep a deposit on file with you
                      4) set a maximum bonus amount that can be advertised
                      5) have their bank send you a copy of their statements

just some brainstorming ideas ...im sure other posters have some as well

Juggler. Some good ideas. Nice to have someone contribute some suggestions and to get involved, rather than sitting back and waiting for the next book to fail so they can cry and point fingers.

Of course there are problems with some of the scenarios.

                        For example.....

                        1) Minimum 5 yrs in business.....that would exclude just about everyone. I recall the original "LIST" back in 97...I think there were 5 or 6 books on it, and a couple of those books are no longer around. But just the same, I don't think the 5 year in biz rule works.....Aces Gold would have been on that list.

                        2) A minimum number of accounts - This would be hard to verify.

                        3) Keeping a deposit with us - I like this one. There are some legal issues here, plus would the book have to keep money on deposit everywhere they advertise?

                        4) Bonuses.....this is a good suggestion as well, but would be tough to enforce due to the great competition that exists out there.

                        5) Bank Statements - This is a good suggestion as well, but again, how much does this mean? It's not that difficult to show money in an account, whether it's yours or not. They could move money in for the statement then move it back out. Or it could just be post up money on deposit. What if the games all fall the wrong way one day? It happens. You would really have to have an account wth post ups in it, and another account with the books money on it.

The suggestions are appreciated and of course we would be more than happy to work with any book or entity to help pull something like this off, but you also have to keep in mind that similar ideas have been presented to books in the past and have failed to get off the ground. Most books aren't willing to work with other books or 3rd partys in any arrangement such as that, and for the solid books that have proved themselves over the years, you almost can't blame them...

Juggler. There is no way......we can be sure an advertiser, or someone on the list, won't go under. The best safeguard we have is posters on this forum. Some times posters don't share about slow pay. They are to interested in protecting there own ass. In other words trying to collect what is owed them.

Again, it is imperative that we share any slow play activity at the sports books we play at.
