  • Sportsbook Software--What works?

What software do you like and what don't you like? A lot of books develop software without asking the customer how they would like to see something.

There is news software every year popping up and so far nothing seems to be setting a standard.

Being a good ole boy from the South, I like the software that works. Joking aside, Aces Gold, before the belly flop had what I thought was the best in the business. I don't have a clue what they were using.

By far the most important thing is NOT having to log in every time one wants to see the line on a game. This means either (a) allowing the player's computer to be indefinitely logged in, or (b) allowing lines to be shown without logging in. When a login is required, it should be the type that can be stored in the computer's memory, not requiring numbers and such to be typed.

Unlike 3-4 years ago, there are today quite a few examples of good, efficient online sportsbook websites. I'd include WSEX, Carib, and Canbet. Others that require a new login to see the updated line (if it has been more than a few minutes) but are deserving of very honorable mention include Pinnacle, Olympic, and Casablanca, due to quick operation and generous online limits.

I like the software that Canbet runs. Did they buy it from somewhere or was it an in-house project?

Canbets software was in house. I think it gives the book an edge to have their own software as oppossed to relying on 3rd party software.

Also gives them more piece of mind I would imagine.

Carib, Wagerstreet and Bodog come to mind as books with unique, original software.......

But hey, the others work pretty well also

What about WSEX? Their software is also original....and Olympic too--at least with in-house software you know all the ins and outs and where you stand with security!
