faceoff WON or LOST???????????

in hockey, a faceoff: if i win the faceoff and draw the puck back to my teammate, my team gets possession of the puck and i get credit for winning a faceoff

if you win the faceoff and draw the puck back to your teammate, etc., you get credit for winning the faceoff

but...

what if i win the faceoff but draw it back to someone on the other team and they get possession...i won the faceoff but the other team ultimately got possession so do i get credit for winning a faceoff or not???
