    PRESS RELEASE

Andruw Jones to cut the ribbon at Grand Opening of E-Commerce Park.

(Willemstad) – Who says today’s pro athletes are self-centered and egotistical?

One special group of professional baseball players remains true to their roots especially when their roots begin in the Curacao Little League, a current hot-bed for baseball talent. Royal Sports plans a warm welcoming celebration this Wednesday, February 6 at

E-Commerce Park to honor the accomplishments of Manager Mark van Zanten, the players and coaches of his recent Netherlands Antilles baseball team. This terrific team from Curacao, was only one out away from making history at the Little League World Series Final in Williamsport, Pennsylvania this past summer. Royal Sports will make a donation to Mr. Anthony Leonard, President of the Curacao Little League for their dedication, hard work and positive influence on the youth of Curacao. Royal Sports sponsors 4 CLL teams, one in each division of league play. Last year in unprecedented fashion, the Royal teams won all four age-bracketed divisions.

On hand will be the Curacao Kid, Andruw Jones representing Fundashon Desarollo Total along with the rest of Curacao’s talented homegrown professional baseball players Randall Simon, Hensley Meullens, Ivanon Coffee and Sharnol Adriana. These players return to their home in the off-season to give back to the community by holding a series of instructional baseball clinics here locally plus Bonaire and Aruba. These ‘Pro Baseball Clinics’, as they are called, provide instruction, hands-on training and display their baseball skills for our youngsters who dream of being major leaguers just like their heroes who are putting on the clinic. To show support for these wonderful free youth clinics, Royal Sports will also donate a check to Fundashon Desarollo Total.

The festivities begin at 1pm with the check presentations and the ribbon cutting

ceremony to mark the Grand Opening of E-Commerce Park all preclude a lofty surprise for the Royal Little League teams by Marty Monroe, Royal Sports spokesman and little league padrino. “We take great pride in our Royal Little Leaguers, and we are as proud of their efforts as we are of our new home. E-Commerce Park is sure to become the digital future of Curacao just as these young ballplayers given the proper direction are destined to become the baseball future of Curacao.”
