IT'S TAX TIME,NOW WHAT?

hello everybody,i wish everybody luck with todays championship game.i would like your opinion on a few things,first i have gotten like ten payouts from wsex sportsbook during 2001.(totaling ten thousand dollars)each payment about one thousand each.i got the money in checks and cashed them (did not deposit)at my bank.signed the check with my bank account number.would you claim this on your taxes?if you didnt claim it would it be real risky?you guys seem real knowlegeable and i would thank you if you could respond. thanks

Sucks to have to declare gambling profits. Sucks even more to have to pay tax on them. Someone told me that if you go to Vegas and use the casino cash machine you can cound this as "gambling losses." If true there might be some value in going on this "at least partially-paid for" trip.
