  • Questions for Carib

Hey Carib - I appreciate your 2% Tuesdays, but have a question.

Why didn't I get -102 when betting any of the games where the line was 3 points?

Has this always been the policy? What is the reason for it?

    Your promo says:

"TWOS'DAY Lay only $1.02 on Tuesday for ALL NFL Straight Wagers!"

I have to tell you that "all" is an inclusive term that includes everything and excludes nothing.

If you are excluding games with a 3 point line, it ISN'T ALL!

    As always - Good Luck,

    Sonny

Carib's site specifically excludes the #3 for NFL games.

I would note that almost all (that I know of) deals offering a free 1/2 point exclude 3 points in the NFL as well.

Carib got hammered pretty good last year on this - it would be crazy for any book to give a free 1/2 point on or off the #3 in the NFL. :p

        mls,

Seems to me someone needs to explain to me how:

"TWOS'DAY Lay only $1.02 on Tuesday for ALL NFL Straight Wagers!"

Excludes 3 point spreads. As I said before: "ALL" does not exclude anything - it is an inclusive term.

        You can't have it both ways . . .

        As always - Good Luck,

It's funny I ran across this post because I've just had a run-in with Carib, first let me say though my experience has been mostly pleasant with them except for the past couple of weeks. I don't know what's happening over there if there was a management change or whatever but here we go: I requested a Paypal cashout on the 23rd Sep and the rules states as follows:

PayPal Transfer: (Cashouts processed 7 days a week, around the clock)
One Free cashout every 5 days otherwise there is a 3% service charge on withdrawls. On all withdrawls there is a $20 minimum. Funds will be transferred only if your PayPal email address information matches the information we have on file. Our accounts department will then be watching your request to first approve and then process your transfer.

Well I requested one today and expected it to be for free as they rules states EVERY 5 days! If I requested one on Sunday and received it free and made two other payout request between Sunday and paid the fee then the one today should have been free, remember every fifth day. Well thinking it was an oversight, I contacted them and they firmly believe that they are right. One of there responses was:

Kindly allow 5 days to expire before cashing out via paypal to obtain a free cashout.

There rules doesn't say wait for 5 days to expire it says every 5 days? Right?

Am I wrong guys? It's not really the money it say what you mean and mean what you say and it appears Carib hasn't been doing this as of late. I guess I have to chalk this up as a lesson learned??? What troubles me though is why is it so hard fo players to get payouts but so easy for book to take your money, so many loopholes and nonsense.

Don't get me wrong - I love Carib and have been with them a long time. It's just that I don't like policies that are ambigious.

Of course when they are interpreted, the player is often on the wrong side of the rule - ala the pay pal policy.

The nickel and diming the player over pay pal or the 2% deal just causes hard feelings over pennies.

Bottom line - I like Carib and will continue to play there, but wanted a clarification, which I haven't see from them yet.

Well I don't think I will get an explanation the last communication from them was:

Hi we do allow a free cashout every five days. This is not your first in a five-day period. We would appreciate your understanding! Thank you

Some kind of customer service huh? Can someone please tell me that I'm wrong?? If I got a free cashout on the 23rd of Sept. and requested another cashout for the purposes of receiving a free cashout on the 28th, that is 5 days after the last free payout, hence every 5 days. I hate to say this but I think some of the problem is that some of the customer service reps may not be that fluent in English and english concepts so it's like hell trying to get them to recognize something simple as EVERY 5 days not after 5 days, I dread calling most sportsbook to get help because of this. I guess Carib feels that they are big enough and strong enough to do what they want, a simple case of Big fish, small fish.

Ok this is getting real interesting here, is this RED flag time!!?? This is what Carib sent me last night.

While we would gladly offer free cashouts in the manner of your interpretation we are aware that this goodwill gesture cost us money. We regret that our intentions were misinterpreted and have thus ventured to make furhter clarification on the site.

Two questions come to mind, one why would you change your website if I wasn't right? two the goodwill gesture will cost you money, it's only $15 in fees that I shouldn't have been charged that I believe I'm owed, they can't handle $15?? You Play, we pay huh? Should be you play, we pay when we feel like it. I asked them why would you send me this message if you aren't going to give me the $15 I'm owed. Is this a prelude of things to come? I would like to hear responses from board members to see if I'm being irrational or not, again it's a matter of principle more than anything. I was actually going to post for NFL today until I saw that message, I left the matter alone since yesterday.

The right thing for Carib to do is realize that their rule was subject to various interpretations. Then they should refund the fees in question, and then clarify their rule.
