  • Any reviews on Bodog

I was thinking about signing with them. I know they are on the list, but I have not heard of anyone using them. So I am a little leary. If anyone has used them, I would appreciate your opinion on them. Thanks

I am surprised that they are on the list. BigBook has a less than stellar record for customer service, according to past posts here in the forum. And BoDog has been accused by Mayan Sports of attempted to steal their customers. BoDog has apparently choses not to comment on repeated questions here in the forum.

I just sent them money w/ in the last three weeks or so. I sent the money by bankwire and it hit the my account that day--w/o me calling them. I was told the bonus money would be in my bonus account w/ in 24 hours of my wagering once through my deposit amount. It took at least three days for the bonus to hit my bonus account. Their limits are set up like Intertops, so they have a max you can risk over the internet, but they'll take more over the phone. However, calling in over the phone is a very unique experience. I've played with at least 35 offshore books, and I can only remember being put on hold once or twice. You're put on hold at least once every time you call in. The first times I called in it took over ten minutes for me to get one wager placed. It is now much quicker, but still take at least two to five minutes to place one wager over the phone. As a result they are virtually unusable at cruch time, unless their limits over the internet meet your needs.

When I requested a mid five figure payout, they told me it would take about a week to get to me--by overnight courier. I was pleasantly suprised to receive it in two days.

I referred a friend because of the great bonus they were offering to everybody. I had to laugh when I found out the referral fee for me would be a $30 match play for my friend depositing $5000. I can't complain though, because the 50% bonus was a great deal for my friend. I believe that bonus deal ends on 9/17.

I experienced things similar when I first played w/ WIT, but I believe they were just growing pains. I suspect it's only a matter of time before BoDog gets the wrinkles ironed out also.

I've been reading this site for a few years and have a lot of confidence in any book that goes on the list--just because I've come to trust Jeff here. I just hope they continue their high standards for a book to make it on "the list."

        sword1,

I have a review of them, but don't have an account there. I wouldn't open an account with them for a number of reasons.

First - they have no idea what customer service means. They failed to respond to simple questions numerous times. They had a banner claiming you could win a 6K account at BoDog, but no one there seemed to know anything about it. Instead they responded to one of ten e-mails and that was a "copy and paste" response telling me to clear my cache. Pretty insulting. They also ignored the same question in this forum. Sportshobby was referring to:

        My Comments

Second - when a book's integrity is called into question (stealing customers) they owe it to themselves and potential customers to respond to those accusations. BoDog chose to ignore numerous and repeated requests to clear the air on that issue. Bad move! I don't know the facts of that issue, but I do know that if I was accused of something and didn't do it, I would say so.

Third - there are way too many books who want your business and will treat you decent. I play at several books on the list (Carib, Royal, WSEX) and some that are not (Safari, Vegas International) and can tell you from experience that I have never had a problem with them or their customer service.

        As always - Good Luck,

        Sonny

Just to follow up on Bodog - I signed up with them and received a 50% cash bonus. I was hestitant after reading some of your reviews, but in the end I could not pass up the 50% bonus. Here is my review - there web site is good and they have some good variance in lines from other books. There customer service seemed good as well with good english speaking operators. I won money and got paid. All in all I would have to say they were a lot better then I was expecting from some of the reviews. The only negative thing was it took along time to receive the check. It took aproximately 6 days each time by fedex which is alot longer then any other book I use. Still they offer good relaod bonuses and I would use them again

Wow I really disagree with all the negative comments. I have played with Big Book and then Bo Dog for years and always found their customer service to be among the best I ever experienced. When either I call them or the company that gives you the tracking numbers, EBanx, they have always treated me great.
The problem Big Book had for years was it's clunky software but since revamping it is is now fast. I sure would recommend them and plan to play with them a lot in the future.
Ask for Mike there if you have a problem. He
            is really a great guy.

                Dragon,

They take Paypal, but in order to get the best bonus you have to use western union quick collect or bank wire. I think they still have some specials on Mondays like 40% for new customers and 20% for reloads, but I would call first to verify.

Mike should try and explain to the forum here the accusations made against BoDog.
