What's the story on BoDog and Mayan Sports? I signed up with Mayan, although never played, some time back. Recently I received an e-mail from BoDog stating that they were acquiring Mayan, and that the Mayan user name and password would work at the BoDog site.

Then I received a scathing e-mail from Mayan saying that BoDog had deceptively tried to steal their customers, and cautioning the players to steer clear.

If this is true, it doesn't sound like the kind of company I'd want to do business with. If it is not true, why would Mayan act this way after being bought? It just doesn't make sense.

Something similar happened to a friend of mine who had an account with Mayan. Very unusual, i would like to hear an informative reply to Sportshobby`s post.

Mayan SportsBook recently switched SportsBook software from ESportz, the software that BoDog/BigBook use to Starnet/World Gaming(Mayan Casino had been using Starnet Casino Software For a couple of years). I guess ESportz considered the customers theirs, and Mayan considered the customers theirs, and that's why there's the acrimony. Cris and ABC Islands recently had a similar situation, minus the ill will, as previous ABC Island players were switched without their approval to Cris, rather than the new ABC Islands. I don't know what the proper procedure is in such instances, but it would be nice to let the customers decide which option they want.

I think this is a matter of business ethics and trust, and should be addressed in the public forum.

Maybe BoDog can't comment for fear of litigation. But if they want the support of Bettorsworld posters, someone will have the clear the air.

I've gotten several e-mails from Mayan Sports basically claiming that BoDog is trying to steal their customers. Not really knowing either sportsbook, I'd stay away from both unless I knew the facts.

Now is the time to bottom of the BoDog myth.

we are now working to get to the bottom of this. We will ask Bodog to produce the documents where they have purchased Mayan Sports. We will await a response to an email that was sent to Calvi. We will start releasing documents and contracts shortly if we are not replied to
