This following statement was originally posted on Major Wager and other watchdog sites in March 2001.
"Five Card Charlie has saved the day for Fair Deal players. Fair Deal Sports was ready to close their site down and go out of business not being able to pay their clients. On March 19, 2001 Five Card Charlie came in and guaranteed 100% payment to all USA and Canadian Clients. We took over full responsibility and have already paid more than $200,000 to every North American Fair deal Client that has requested a payment.
Anyone that reads the posting forums knows that Five Card Charlie has been in business since 1997 owned and operated by Legalbook Sports. The same great customer service, same day payments and special bonus offers you have enjoyed at Five Card Charlie have been implemented into Fair Deal Sports."
The above statement by the owner of Five Card Charlies/Legal Book/Fair Deal is a convenient representation of the truth. Prior to the takeover by Five Card Charlies I had been playing with Fair Deal with a reasonable degree of success. Due to my good fortune in hitting a number of parlays I ran up a substantial balance. Fair Deal agreed to pay me the balance outstanding over an extended period at the rate of $2,500.00 per week. These payments had not been as regular as agreed but had nevertheless been occurring on a semi-regular basis.
As soon as Five Card Charlies took over Fair Deal these payments stopped. Communication with the new owner resulted in being told that this debt would not be honored. At the time of these discussions Five Card Charlies issued the above statement. I am not a North American or Canadian Client. The fact that I am not a client from either of these two parts of the world may make the above statement true but if anything it illustrates even more clearly the clever attempt at deception. I am owed $86,967. I have recorded conversations with Mike that I can produce to confirm this. I even offered to settle for half, that offer was also declined.
At this point in time I hold no hope of receiving any funds. I have waited this long to post this since the matter had been referred to the Major. The Major has now informed me that he is unable to help and that they will not be paying me.
This book currently enjoys a reasonable status on various watchdog sites. I post this merely in an attempt to change this situation. I am not sure if this will cost them any customers but it is my intention to post and repost this at all sites that have any connection with sports betting.
THE ABOVE FACTS ARE CORRECT AND CAN EASILY BY VERIFIED BY LISTENING TO TAPES OF CONVERSATIONS. THE PEOPLE THAT RUN THIS BUSINESS THOUGHT NOTHING OF STEALING CLOSE TO $100,000.00 FROM ME. THEY WERE AWARE OF THE OBLIGATIONS TO THE CUSTOMERS OF THE BUSINESS WHEN THEY TOOK IT OVER AND HAVE CHOSEN NOT TO PAY ME. THEY BOUGHT THE CUSTOMER BASE WITH AN INTENTION OF GENERATING A PROFIT. THE COST SHOULD HAVE INCLUDED ALL OF THE CUSTOMERS. IT IS DISHONEST TO TAKE OVER A BUSINESS AND RECEIVE THE BENEFITS WITHOUT INCURRING THE COSTS. THEY MAY HAVE PAID THE SMALL CUSTOMERS BUT IF AND WHEN ONE OF THEM HITS A WINNING STREAK THEY TOO COULD BECOME THE NEXT LARGE CUSTOMER THAT DOES NOT GET PAID. IF YOU ARE STILL A CUSTOMER MOVE YOUR ACTION TO A DIFFERENT BOOK. THERE ARE MANY OTHER GOOD BOOKS THAT WILL PAY YOU WITHOUT ANY EXCUSES. BAD BOOKS NEED TO BE EXPOSED AND THIS BOOK IS WORSE THAN MANY OTHERS BECAUSE THEY HAVE ALSO INTENTIONALLY POSTED HALF TRUTHS IN ORDER TO IMPROVE THEIR PROFILE IN THE MARKET PLACE IN AN ATTEMPT TO ATTRACT A LARGER CUSTOMER BASE. STAY AWAY.
