    Announcement – Thursday 5th July 2001

Victor Chandler Superbook today announced its intention to move its operations to Costa Rica prior to the start of the new NFL season, the expected commencement of operations in San Jose is Monday 30 July. The decision on the move was taken today, 5th July following final discussions on infrastructure and office accommodation in Costa Rica over the past weekend.

Superbook will continue to operate independently as a part of the Victor Chandler global gaming organization.

The decision was ultimately taken based on a broad range of business and marketing issues. Moving the operation to Costa Rica will benefit players significantly by enabling the company to develop both its marketing and range of products.

In keeping with its 50 year reputation for outstanding customer service and integrity Victor Chandler Superbook will be concentrating its attention over the next few weeks on completing its operations in Antigua, meeting its obligations to staff and suppliers and ensuring a smooth and seamless changeover to the new jurisdiction on July 30. Players with further questions can contact Superbook customer service on 1-877-9 48267.

No disruption of any kind is expected with player accounts or services – full backup facilities will remain in Antigua for a minimum of 2 months.

The decision on moving to a new jurisdiction was a lengthy and difficult one for the company in view of the very good reputation and relationship they enjoyed within Antigua – both with staff and the government however the long term development requirements of the business forced the decision on the company.

does this mean they are no longer a licensed sportsbook? this can't be good news. the sportsbook business must not be as profitable as we think if they can't afford to operate and pay a licenising fee. will others follow?

Costa Rica is without a doubt home to many highly reputable sportsbooks. One can't blame Superbook for the move, especially if it saves them operating fees and expenses.

Thanks for your patience with the website. The problems we have been experiencing are totally unrelated to the other announcement, we hope to have rectified things later today. I will keep you posted.

Regarding the other concerns, VC remains fully licensed and as Brian once said, is still 'Safer than the Bank of America'.

            Good Luck,
