  • Agent vs. direct post-up

I am new to the off-shore book game. Did all my action live in Nevada, until few months ago. A guy (friend) wanted to act as an agent with a book for me.

Can anyone explain to me how the agent deal works? This guy is short on detail...he just says that I deal with him and he guarantees my payouts. Does the agent get a cut of the action from the book? Or does an agent put up all the cash and pay the book an amount to take care of the paperwork, phones, etc?

Hope someone out there could clarify this for me, so I can decide to continue with this guy (who is giving me some slow pay problems), or go to the book direct.

    Thanks for any input.

Check the guy out before you do business with him. Agents get a percentage from the book. The agent guarantees your payment, or at least that's the way it used to be.

The only reason I could see for using an agent would be easy access to cash payouts. If that's not a concern, then don't use one. There are plenty of solid books out there.

      Thanks Dragon

Does the agent make a percentage of the action (win or lose)?

Also, thru the agent I do not need to make a deposit. Thru him I get a credit limit. I assume no book will let you play on credit??

There are some books that give credit, but you'd either need an introduction or you'd need to build up a relationship with them.

Agents have different deals. Depends on the book and the size of the agents sheet.

Generally it would be a percentage of the net losses of the agents players.
