  • SportingBetUSA Screws ME on B'Jays!

When I pick which books to play through, I like to have peace of mind knowing that my money isn't in a 3rd world country. Hence, I usually only play with the European and Australian books. Last night, SportingbetUSA changed the payout of my Blue Jays bet. I got the bet in at 1:30 pm at +110 for a nickel. When I checked this morning, they credited me only $500 using an obscure rule that adjusts the line to the opening number if there is a pitching change. While, the rule is posted on the website, it is not one used by the industry as a whole. Throughout my betting career, this has never happened. I know it's only $50 but it's the principle of it. In about a month's time, I have wagered about $56000 through them making no bet larger than $500 and an avg bet of $200. There are many choices out there and SBUSA may be losing a good customer over a bad rule and $50.

Are there other books out there that do this? If there are, I want to know cause I don't want to play with them either.

If you didn't list pitchers, then your bet would be action regardless of the pitching change. If you did list pitchers, your bet would be void. This is standard everywhere.

Exactly. My bet was action but somehow, these guys have a rule that says all action bets revert to the opening line of the new pitchers.

          They followed standard procedure.

When you play "action", you get the adjusted price.

Unlike being locked in at the price you played at when you list or when you bet hoops or football.

          All books follow this rule.

Real bettors respect their money and the line, so they list pitchers.

YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN SCREWED if they did not
do what they did thats why they offer the option listed or action fo good reason books
do not want the risk of insider info on pitching changes beeting them to a line so
they offer bettors a choice bet only the pitchers stated or take your chances and take the opening new line or closing new line
depending on the book, with the new pitcher
they make no more money on this as they pay
a higher price for the reverse, side, no offense but that kind of headline is ridiculous and unfair to the book if you thought you were screwed you should have asked first then posted that I think you owe
              sportingbet USA an apology!

I apologize to SBUSA. I should have read their rules first. There seems to be discrepencies in this rule from book to book but a lot do have this same policy. I take back what I said. It was only $50 and this issue is dead as far as I'm concerned.

You did the right thing by coming in and apologizing. Alot of guys would have trashed the book and when they found out they were wrong, you would never hear from them again.
