  • SportingbetUSA problems

SportingbetUSA has a link at the top of the BettorsWorld site, but this is the third time in three weeks that I have not been able to get on their site. The last two were due to technical problems with their provider. This doesn't make me feel very good about the firm that is on the London Stock Exchange. How about getting another provider? When you can't get on, you feel like they might have gone out of business and are going to rip you off. I believe I am going to cash out and switch back to PlayersOnly. Not a lot of bonuses, but they are always up.

These guys don't do book-to-book transfers, and they don't take NETeller either.

Maybe they only want customers that play with a single sportsbook.

i know this firm .....they may be disorganised and poorly managed, but as far as customers are concerned they should be honest.

          ....I should qualify that.
These guys have some terrific talent on the roster (from the old BETMAKER heritage): but it seems as though poor management is giving them operational headaches.

First off, let me thank you all for your comments concerning the recent Internet problems we experienced.

We understand that some comments are made from knowledge of how the Internet works and others are from those who want to find something to complain about.

Suffice to say, we are never happy when there is a problem with our communications. We have split connections for the Internet portion of our business and the phone portion of our communications network.

We did, however, experience some down time and some slow response times over the Internet due to our provider making a changeover to new equipment.

Despite this fact, our phone system was working fine as was our customer’s ability to communicate with our office directly.

            Our phone system never failed.

We actually did have an alternative Internet connection to the site, but it did not have enough bandwidth to suit our needs.

To resolve this problem we are increasing the size of the bandwidth to the site and will in the future, if required, be able to route around the connection.

The industry is growing and the amount of resources that are required from the IP’s are challenging their ability to keep up.

As everyone knows not all IP or "dot.com" companies have unlimited funds to keep up with demand. The provider we use is major and is only one step off of the major backbones in the USA.

Having said that, they also provide the service to many of the people in the industry as wells as the business public. They have and will continue to upgrade their facilities to accommodate our requirements and those of their other clients.

Again, we appreciate your interest and want to assure you that we are not happy to have inconvenienced any of our clients.

We value your business and will continue to do everything to warrant your staying with us either as an existing client or joining us as a new member.

            Thank you.

            The COO at sportingbetUSA.com

I wish there were symbols other than faces you could add to your post because after reading that response all I would have to post is One Large Red Flag.

IT'S NO SECRET THAT I WAS A CONSULTANT ON THE SALE OF BETMAKER.COM TO SPORTINGBET.UK.

I CANT IMAGINE WHAT AZBOB'S RED FLAG COULD BE FOR.

CERTAINLY IT CANT BE FOR ANYTHING FINANCIALLY RELATED BECAUSE THE PUBLICLY TRADED SPORTINGBET.UK IS A FINANCIAL POWERHOUSE IN THE OFF-SHORE BUSINESS.

                THEY BAILED OUT FIRSTSTAKE.COM.

THEY RECENTLY PURCHASED ONE OF THE LARGEST IF NOT THE LARGEST AUSTRALIAN BOOKMAKER, NUMBER ONE.

WHILE YOU MAY HEAR OF A CUSTOMER BEING INCONVENIENCED WHEN THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH AN INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER,I CAN ASSURE YOU THE ONE THING YOU WILL NEVER HEAR A CUSTOMER BEING INCONVENIENCED WITH AT SPORTINGBETUSA.COM AND THAT IS SLOW PAY OR NO PAY.

THOSE TWO PHRASES WILL NEVER BE ASSOCIATED WITH SPORTINGBETUSA.COM.

                NEVER!

I apologize for the inconvenience this past week.

The problem we incurred with the net was a result of hardware problems from our provider in Houston. Many companies were affected and it was beyond our control.

We appreciate your understanding. We are currently working on a redundant system which should be complete in a weeks time.

If you have any problems in the future feel free to e-mail dave at dave@betcbs.com.

I thought it was obvious, but the red flag was for,

"We understand that some comments are made from knowledge of how the Internet works and others are from those who want to find something to complain about."

This blaming the victim strategy in response to a reasonable and valid post regarding service is not, in my opinion, a good indicator of the book's awareness of what is professional and acceptable customer service.

For examples of that, check out posts in this forum by BetCBS and Olympic re: their recent site downtime.

I think the folks at SportingbetUSA will take very seriously any complaints and or criticism their players or potential players have to offer.

You also can't ignore their status as one of the most financially sound organizations in this business............

You can't go wrong with any of the books listed at the top of this page. As you can see, customer service can vary but all are financially sound and reliable.

You might visit the sites to test the accessibility and speed of their software (if that is how you will be wagering).

It also depends on what sports you are most interested in and the range of wagers a book might offer. Also, do they have overnight wagering, what are the limits, dime line for MLB might be among points to consider.

Check out and take advantage of any sign-on bonuses.

My favs, right now are Olympic and Grand Central.

                          Good luck

The only problem I have had with Sportingbetusa has been with regard to the method of withdrawal from my account. I can understand their position as a post-up book not wanting to do transfers to another book. The only options i was given was Western Union, for which I would have to pay the fees, significant for a mid 4 figure amount, or a cheque sent by Fed-ex. Not being a US customer, my bank takes 6 weeks, yes that's right 6 weeks, to process a foreign cheque! So the choices I have is a huge Western Union fee to pay, or a 6 week + Fed-ex delivery time to get my money. Their lack of flexibility on this matter is disappointing - a direct bank transfer takes less than a week, and the fees are minimal for this transaction. Had money from Pinnacle within a few days using this method. Just my whinge of the day.

It would be a big help if they added NETeller as an option.
