Reality, why should I move the line from
-125 to to -141 or -142 when I can lay off the bulk of the money at other joints at
-120 or lower? It's risky taking a huge bet--say 5 to 10 times larger than your normal limit--just a few minutes before the Pokers are likely to play. I wouldn't do it unless I could immediately lay a portion of it off. If the Pokers come in on the same side before I have time to get enough buyback, I end up grossly overloaded on the favorite.
To avoid that problem, I'd stipulate that the Asians play earlier. Then, I'd have plenty of time to play games with the line, just like Belize does.

The real score would be to get hooked up with the tawaniese bookmakers these guys are playing with

Reality, the fact is, the relatively new Don Best book that supposedly got hurt by the Asian baseball money didn't. They did great in baseball. Booking too big in football buried them, and that is why they're now slow-paying. The huge, super-solid Don Best book that handled close to 900 million in action last year also did great booking the 50 + dime Asian bets.

REALITY, I don't remember when but you told a story of letting a very big player play into your football numbers as long as he played solely into you and played very early in the week. You said that that was one of your best weapons as you were able to use that to solidify your numbers. Why should this be that much different if you stipulated they play early. You would not have a week like in football, but if they played early, you could still have time to balance a large portion of action. It is a lot easier to get big buyback quicker in baseball. The vultures are everywhere.
I agree with reno in laying off. If you are a 20 cent book, what exactly is the difference of laying off at -120 or moving to -140 and getting buyback at +120?

I would think that laying off would cause less of a flood of steam from other smaller books moving on air than seeing a CRIS or Olympic go from -125 to -140 instantly.

Wouldn't easiest solution be to play the game at -120 as quickly and widespread as you can, and make the $2500 scalp (-125 vs. -120). Should work in theory. It's like me, a bettor playing +25 for 50 dimes and taking -120 for 50 dimes... am i not right?
