  • AN EASY QUESTION FOR REALITY

youre dealing and getting the moves from an
outside source within seconds of the moves-
still you have a client who beats you to the
change about 40% of the time, but you
know he's not moving for anybody-he might be
looking at the screen and youre not(bad idea anyway)-a game moves from 6 to 7 and he beats you-lays the 6 for 8 dollars-now the
line moves back to 6 1/2-he beats you again
and says "i made a mistake on that play for
    8 dollars-make it 4 instead of 8"-if he does
this often-how do you handle it?-eliminating
the fact that he should be cut off.

    OLD MAN,

IF HE IS CONSISTENTLY BEATING THE MOVES THEN I ASSUME HE IS NO DUMMY AND I TREAT HIM ACCORDINGLY.

HE HAS A BET -6 FOR 8 DOLLARS,THE BET STANDS.

YOU SAY THE LINE GOES FROM 7 TO 6.5 AND HE BEATS ME AGAIN.

AM I TO ASSUME HE TOOK +7 FOR 8 DOLLARS AND NOW WANTS TO REDUCE HIS -6 PLAY TO 4 DOLLARS?

ALL PLAYERS GET A ONE TIME EXCEPTION AND IT IS NOTED IN THEIR CUSTOMER NOTES.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE WOULD I ALLOW THIS ON A REGULAR BASIS.

HE WAS THRILLED TO LAY THE 6 WHEN THE LINE WENT TO 7 BUT WAS A LITTLE LESS THRILLED WHEN IT DROPPED TO 6.5.AND NOW WOULD LIKE ME TO REDUCE HIS -6 PLAY.

COULD I REDUCE HIS -6 PLAY TO 4 DOLLARS IF THE LINE WENT TO 7.5?

OTHER OPINIONS FROM SITTING B.M.'S WOULD BE INTERESTING HERE...

when the line moves against him after the initial move, then he wants to half his play
he beats you from 6 to 7-he lays 6 for 8 dol
he beats you from 7 back down to 6 1/2-he
wants to half his original play-6 for 8-
      he doesnt take the 7

The player is obviously trying to take advantage of the leniency of the book. The BM should not let a bet be canceled if the line moves. If it does, the BM should tell him he will have to bet the game off on the other side. You might let him cancel once if he gives you a mistake type reason. After that, warn him that this will not be allowed again.
