I've been on both ends of that situation oddly enough. I was quoted a spread that moved in the middle of the read back. The line changed in my favor and I asked if I could get that number since nothing was confirmed. The clerk paused, asked, and I got the higher number. In the instance that it moved against me, I said nothing and my play was readback with the line that was quoted me when I asked what it was. Either way, I can out on top. Is that not the norm? This happened at both CRIS and Caribi.

Isn't that why computer monitors can blink? Or should I market a clerk's chair that buzzes their privates whenever a line moves?

REALITY - good question although I'm late, let me relate this experienced. Packers/Patriots game, I was in Vegas, a little bit tipsy before the opening kick off. I went to the counter and said to the clerk, give me UNDER 50' on game total for a couple of dimes (no need to mention the exact amount), the clerk punch in the call and was about to give me the ticket. About less than one minute, I countered my bet to OVER. Clerk called the manager and changed my wager right on the spot.

Why am I telling this stupid experienced? Because it is relevant to the question. Will they change the bet? My answer is YES, why not. First of all, everyone brags that rules and regulations are based from Las Vegas.

          UNDERDOG,

THERE IS NEVER A PROBLEM CHANGING A BET WHEN THE LINE IS THE SAME.

WE ARE TALKING ABOUT WHEN THE "PLAY" IS COMING IN AND THE LINE MOVES.

HAD THE LINE MOVED TO 52 IN THE INTERIM WOULD THEY STILL HAVE BEEN SO EAGER TO ACCOMODATE YOU???

Las Vegas rules again. When a line MOVES "no more changes."

              REALITY,

lets start being a little objective. i am rather new arond here but it appears to me that you are always for the book and never the player. i don't believe ALL players are out to screw the book. conversley, i believe the opposite. most players don't know any better.

Another scenario. This was way before offshores. I was at the Mirage, if I could remember it correctly it was an early NBA game between Magic/Jazz. Shaquile O'Neal was still with the Orlando Magic that time. I took the Magic +4 (around 10:30 a.m.) about a couple of dimes went to the baccarat table and lost my shirt. Around 4:00 p.m., I went back to sportsbook and saw the line was Magic +3. Even though the line moved in my favor I wanted to cancel my wager due to the fact that I was planning to go back to baccarat table. Sports manager explained it in a very nice way that when a line moves it cannot be cancelled anymore.

This is the complete explanation of the manager. What if I had Magic +4 for example and bet 10 dimes at about 10:00 a.m....then about 10:05 a.m. someone loaded on Jazz and of course line will move by a hook for example. I could cancel my bet of +4 wait about half an hour and bet it again at 11:00 a.m. for +4'.

REALITY - your question is different from the scenario I was saying. Yours is more of "simultaneous". A player is making a bet, again is making a bet and all of a sudden the line moves. Readback is "being read" still and I don't see any reason why the wager won't be cancelled at that particular moment. If the player had the wagered confirmed then hung the phone and saw it somewhere (Don Best or wherever) that the line moved, he called back and cancelled the bet, then that should not be honored.

                      UNDERDOG,

I MISUNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU WERE TRYING TO SAY.

AS LONG AS A LINE HASN'T MOVED THE PLAYER HAS NO PROBLEM CHANGING SIDES.

ONCE THE LINE HAS MOVED THE BOOK WILL NO LONGER HONOR A REQUEST TO CHANGE A BET.

THAT'S NOT ONLY FAIR IT'S LOGICAL.
