  • Question?

How can 20 cent lin ebooks expect to compete with dime line guys?

is this a case of possible simple ignorance?

i am a smaller player-buck. in the scheme of things it might not really matter but i believe it is all relative.

    any thoughts on this?
    thanks

Many of the books would just assume CLOSE during baseball season. The fact that they may lose some business doesn't phase them. The big stores have built up such a large customer base, come football, they'll make it up.

Plus, it's not to say that there's no value to be found at the 20 cent shops. Let's face it, players still play totals, and everone books them the same, and the players looking for buyback often find it at a 20 cent book close to post, such was the case last year with CRIS for example.

Some good points Jeff, the wide spread will save them some work. It also allows an opinion without much exposure. I have repect for those that can follow 20 outs and play the best #. Me I like to find BM's with an opinion and follow a more reasonable # of outs like 8. I know this makes me sound square, but we can't check them all and the dime line I will give them a look come April.

Like randyrohm says, if you're a smaller player with even a little bit on the ball, you'll be looking to play at the dime books. So I would think that the 20 cent plan would backfire, seeing as it's the smaller players the books would want, and not the wiseguys.
