  • WIT parlays on Internet

Parlays involving sides with money lines give inferior payouts when using WIT's internet program. The payouts are fine when the wager is called in. Case study from tonight's slate:

    $100 2-Team Parlay with Knicks -1.5 pts (-110) and Seton Hall +1.5 pts (-105):

    Theoretical payout:

    100*(210/110)*(205/105)=372.73; i.e. $100 to win $272.73.

    Their software gives:

$100 to win $224 (Notice this is far worse than a regular 2-teamer with both sides at -110)

I have made several of these plays using their phone service and the payouts are always correct (WIT will even round up the cents to the next dollar).

Does anyone know the reason for this?

Why don't you just call WIT's to figure it out?

Can you imagine trying to explain these figures over the phone with a customer service rep? I think its more easily solved on a bulletin board where both parties can view each other figures.

(I think WIT posts here, at least they used to)

        To Unnamed Sources,

I must say this is the strangest post I've ever seen. You have a bad figure and want to clear it up using an internet forum? Well "Whatever It Takes". We are changing software next week. The software we have now has made some mistakes with parlays so what you are saying I can believe. The other post that you made in regard to customer service not being able to help resolve your figure, well nothing could be farther from the truth. Please call 1-800-262-7857 and ask for Shay or Brian. These two guys are the best and let WIT go to work and fix your figure.

These posting forums are a great thing, but please, in the future call us one time before posting that you have a problem. Sorry for any inconvenience so when you call tell the guys in customer service to add a 25.00 bonus to your balance. Hope you enjoy the new software starting next week.

        Dana - WIT Sports.

My apologies for the confusion. I have absolutely no problem with my "figure" (or balance) with WIT.

The term I probably should have used was "calculations", that is, the parlay payouts the software gives versus theoretical calculations versus what the WIT phone system gives, etc. I do believe this would have been quite a drawn-out ordeal over the phone.

I have noticed the problem with the on-line system and have not bet any of these parlays on-line. I find on-line betting to be more convienient to use, so I was hoping to get the problem corrected for future use by raising the issue.

My apologies again for the misuse of "figure" and the overall negative tone this thread has had (in retrospect). WIT is one of my favorite books; I would recommend them to anyone.

Because our first software company did not keep it's word, we were forced to change software during the middle of the football season. We chose what we use now because of easy installation and simple use of the system. I am grateful to the company for getting us out of a jam, but this software is not what we need to compete with the top internet books. We have new software coming this week that appears to be equal or better than anyone's. Once we get up and running with this you will see a huge improvement in our internet operation. We Look forward to serving you in the future.

            Thanks
            Dana - WIT Sports.
