  • annoyed with All-World mailing

I received a mailing from them today, which was forwarded to me by the post office because it was sent to an old temporary address in care of the person I was staying with. How did they get this address? I called and they would not tell me, claiming they have bought many lists but don't keep/compile the lists themselves. They would not help me find out who sold them my information, but it had to be one of three sportsbooks. I will try to figure it out. The only possibilities are abetz, rosies, goto, sportbet, and premiere league.

anyone else get a mailing from all world?

I think mailing lists are bought and sold like the slaves of olden times. But unlike phone calls and frequent e-mails, I usually don't mind just chunking the postal stuff in the trash. What was so annoying about it?

      Hi Chilly,

It is very possible that we purchased your name from someone because we purchase mailing list all of the time. All we do when we get a new list is cross reference it with our own list and kick out all of the doubles. It is also possible that you have signed up on our internet site because we mail to everyone that has registered with our sportsbook online unless they request not to receive any mail. However we came by your name we apologize if you received a mailing from us and it annoyed you. We will be happy to take your name off of our list so you won't receive any more of our information, but if you regesitered with our internet sportsbook then you will need to call and ask not to have any mail sent to you. Again we apologize we don't want to send out to anyone who does'nt want the information because it cost us money to mail them out, and we are not in the business of annoying people.
      Thanks and good luck.

It was annoying because (1) it was sent to an address I stayed at for several weeks (a friend's house) where I had three checks mailed as I waited to move into a new home--it was sent "In Care Of" my friend who was less than thrilled, and (2) A-World was 1/10th as friendly and responsive on the phone as they were in the post above. I told them that I did not give them that address, that nobody should have ever had that address, and I wanted to know how they got it. The employee refused to help me whatsoever. In fact, the person at A-World even claimed, when I asked to speak to a manager, that "I'm the only one here" and that nobody could help me. Please.

It wasn't the mail, but the fact that one book decided to sell my name attached to someone else's address (who doesn't want that association) and an A-World employee lied to me when I tried to solve the puzzle. Not a great second impression.

          Chilly,

I have no idea who you talked to or why they told you that i was'nt here. If these doors are open i am here, it could have been that i was in a meeting because i was bogged down yesterday with meetings off and on all day. Again i apologize if any of my employees was rude to you or lied to you. I try to enstill the same qualities in my employees that i my self try to have when dealing with everyone, not just our clients but everyone. If you are a client and want to have your name or your friend's name and address removed from our mailing list just call and ask to speak to me. I won't be able to tell you where we got your name or your friend's name and address as i explained before, but i will be happy to remove your name and or your friend's name and address from our mailing list so as not to cause you any more grief with your friend. Again i apologize for any inconvience or grief that we might have caused you in any way, and i apologize for the actions of my employees. If you would like to have your friend call me i will try to explain to him what happened and assure him that he will not receive any more mailings from us. If you can think of any thing else that i can do for you please don't hesitate to contact me. My e-mail address is rick1@interneeds.net and my private phone number is 1-800-981-4794.

          Thanks and good luck.
          Rick
