Internet Bookmaker First to Offer Odds on Second Season of CBS Hit Show
St. John's, Antigua (January 24, 2001)-Quite possibly the most anticipated
event in television history, CBS will unleash Survivor-The Australian
Outback on Sunday, January 28, 2001. In what promises to be a riveting
viewing experience, Survivor is expected to get higher ratings than
Sunday's other television spectacular, Super Bowl XXXV. After becoming the
only place to bet on the original Survivor, today Intertops.com announces
betting options on who will be the last person standing in the Australian
desert and take home the $1 million grand prize on Survivor II.
The Internet's first and largest sports betting site, Intertops.com has
listed Keith, the 40-year-old chef from West Bloomfield, Michigan, as the
early individual favorite to make it through the Outback, currently
listing him at 4/1 odds (i.e. win $4 for every $1 bet). Intertops.com also
feels that Colby, the 26-year-old auto customizer from Texas (5/1), and
Amber, the administrative assistant from Beaver, Pennsylvania (5/1), have
what it takes to survive longer than their fellow competitors.
"When CBS put the original Survivor on the airways last season, we were
inundated with people asking if they could bet on who would win. After
the overwhelming response we got from the first offer, it's only natural
to project who will win the second season," said Simon Noble, executive
