  • CRIS

Does anybody have any idea if they are going to offer Australian Open? The first week is already over. Thanks.

I won an account at CRIS about a month ago and just want to make my first bet there. Since I am not at all interested in American sports, I have not had a chance yet.

Well, this is the book that won't let you enter before you sign up. Personally I have no intention of dealing with a book that hides its lines. It's like having to buy something from somewhere without even knowing what the product is.

I would usually agree. But in this case you can view the CRIS lines on the free IX service.

Actually used that IE deal on the weekend a bit, worked quite well.

Even kept working after I logged off, came back the next morning, reconnected to ISP and off you go with it, that is pretty cool.

If you are going to let a little thing like having to be a member to view the lines stop you from opening an account you will be making a big mistake. CRIS is by far the strongest book around. I have been playing online for abt 1 year and playing in total abt 18 years and CRIS is my best safest out ever. You will always get paid ASAP without a story no matter what the amount is. Their customer service is great and so are their clerks. So if you pass for that one reaso you will be missing on a great out.

            Alex,

They are a joke,They have never had more than the Finals up on the Austrailian Open and even then its a 40cent line.

One problem with CRIS though, their betting interface is horrendous.

                Railbird,

We could throw a lot of bookmakers into the 'pathetic' class, for limited offerings as far as number of sports/events go, depending on your point of view.

Cris mainly takes American sports. Sportsbooks that concentrate on American sports mainly mostly ignore or have crazy prices for other world sports.

I feel the same is Vice versa for European books.
Canbet I see offers nice prices + HT lines on basketball games.

Does any other European sportsbook take good action on american sports?

                  Thanks
                  in advance for any responses

From what I heard CRIS has an appaling choice of sports to bet on. If that is the case then they are miles away from greatness in this industry. It's like a supermarket selling nothing but corn flakes and several varieties of muesli... what's good about that?

OK. They have today's quarterfinals right now. A little bit too late, in my opinion, but still better than nothing.

By the way, I never understood why tennis is not an "American sport". Given the number of Americans in top 100 and the number of tournaments held in the US it is amazing that tennis gets so little attention.

CRIS is not even close to the best when it comes to ONLINE wagering. It's almost as if their online business is an after thought.

True, they are solid as a rock. But they will never be considered the best in this day and age, until they start paying more attention to the future, which is online wagering.

                            Alec,

The promblem is most American bookmakers are from the tristate area in Ny,philly,nj, and there is no room for tennis courts their,so they did not grow up with tennis nor do they understand the game,it is also why most Us tennis players are from sunbelt states. But it is 2001 now and they need to get with the program, most of these guys think its 1978 still.

I think alot of the old time books have purposely kept their internet operations small. Many of them wanted to sit back and see how the kyl bill and other legislation panned out before dumping alot of money into it. I also think that many of them don't reust the internet.

But I also feel that any big time book that doesn't go full throttle into the sports that the rest of the world likes to wager on is making a big mistake. This industry is global. It isn't going anywhere.....and it pays to be diversified.
