  • Eddie Does Vegas

This past Saturday, I had dinner and shared drinks with Eddie Hadeed, the former owner of Premiere League. Eddie was visiting Vegas to attend the Consumer Electronics show. However, because gambling is not out of Eddie's blood, while we drank in the MGM sportsbook, he was eagerly watching the results of the college basketball games that he had bet on. Also, Eddie confessed to me that he already is getting bored and misses the excitement of running a sportsbook.

Just as many of you already know, Eddie is a really nice guy who enjoys helping other people. I'm planning on visiting Antigua next year, and Eddie wants me to be his guest.

Eddie, if you read this, call me or e-mail me at rreno@lvcm.com with your mailing address. I want to send you the spiritual reading list that you requested and a couple of books that I think you'll find provocative. And by the way, I enjoyed "Eddie Does Vegas" more than I did "Debby Does Dallas"

Keep us posted - I'd like to visit Antigua sometime in the future also.

Maybe Eddie could use his free time to open up a travel agency for gamblers.

I saw an advertisement for an all-inclusive called "Galley Bay". The draw was airfare of $199 on American (slightly more from West Coast). Does anyone know about this resort?

Sportshobby, watch out for those discount flights. Remember the Value Jet crash that killed over a 100 people, including Rodney Culver of the San Diego Chargers?

Anyway, the flight crashed in a swamp, and two divers, while recovering bodies, heard the following conversation between two alligators:

Alligator(1): "These people taste awful, but what do you expect from discount food."

Alligator(2): "Yeah, but this Gatorade really hits the spot!"

Maybe we should charter a flight on Renoair .

Sportshobby, in addition to travel services, perhaps Eddie could offer financial services for players who would like to do a little offshore banking. With Eddie's connections on the island, he could create his own hospitality subculture for the gaming crowd.

I was thinking how nice it would be to fly to Antigua, have ground transportation to a resort featuring beachfront rooms, a fine restaurant, a sportsbook & bar, and, of course, a bank branch in the lobby. Anyone interested in setting up a little offshore sports mecca as described would have me as their first guest.

Bette, Eddie is actually looking into still being involved in the sportsbetting biz in a way other than owning/operating a book. If Eddie wants the details disclosed, I'll leave it up to him to do so.

Galley Bay is a nice spot,if my memory serves me correct it was completely rebuilt after the hurricane. Just over the hill from where I use to stay. Great island and great people.

              Hey Reno et all

Sorry about not getting to this forum earlier, but I am still on vacation (in Vail now) and this was my first reall opportunity to get on line. Reno, dinner was great! I will definitely look you up next time I am in the area. I am definitely interested in the reading material, email me at hadeedej@hotmail.com. Looking for ward to your visit.

Sportshobby, I am more than happy to assist whenever I can. Antigua is great for vacations. That 199 fare sounds low but I don't really know the details. Big Time Hoops is right, Galley Bay has been rebuilt and it is pretty nice now. Contact me at will at the above address.

Big Time Hoops you seem to know Antigua pretty well.......been there a bit I guess. Next time you are down please look me up.....I shouldn't be hard to find.

Gotta go now......the snow is great.

              Regards Eddie

ps: Brian or Jeff I would like to start posting under "eddie" if is available. If so let me know.
