New pop-up coming from Bworld?

No, I haven't gotten it yet at BW, but have seen similar pop-ups on other sites. I believe these windows are the result of bad code, or devious programmers.

Jeff... Is this a legit ad?

Yes, I am getting this message everytime I hit my back button after I read a post. Very aggravating as you have to close the window and then go to your other window.

Jeff, please let us know that this a mistake and not something we will have to put up with going forward.

We apologize for the pop up.......it's us. We are always trying new marketing and traffic building techniques.

We set it up late at night, to take a look at it.

The general consensus thus far, has been a big thumbs down.

Last thing we want to do is piss off the current visitors, in an effort to gain new ones.

We will re-evaluate After a day or two.

Quite possibly the most annoying pop-up I've ever encountered. I'm gone from Bworld until it's gone.

the way to approach this is to suggest we remove it. threatening to leave is not. do what you must do and we will do what is best for the visitors and bettorsworld.

I don't understand the gist of your message. All I did in my post was state my experience that it was quite possibly the most annoying pop-up I've ever seen. I've since been told that porno sites have much worse pop-ups but I don't visit them.

I then stated that I would not visit Bworld until the pop-up was gone. I made that statement because it was true and because it seemed relevant to Jeff's post that Bworld was going to reevaluate the pop-up to see how it affected current visitors compared to attracting new ones.

I did not use offensive language nor did I slam Bworld. I simply attempted to offer my opinion so that it might be considered when Bworld makes its decision as to what is best for Bworld and its visitors. My apologies for upsetting you although I fail to see why anything I said should upset anyone. I guess I'll retreat to the safe and silent world of lurking.

please do not misinterpret what i wrote. it was very plain and in no way can be interpreted any other way than what was stated. similar to your post. how anyone can take offense to my post is beyond me.
what reply would you have rather seen? we realize that we cannot make everyone happy all the time. currently we receive in excess of 8500 visits per day and cannot always make everyone happy.
we could have easily taken offense to what your post said. some posters simply said they did not like the additional window and hoped it might go away. you in a semi-threatening matter said you were simply going to leave. what was your purpose in making that statement? why couldn't you have simply email jeff or i and voice your concerns to us?
the windows are gone now and we hope this works for everybody.
