  • KNOW your book's RULES!

Well, this is just a warning... If you assume the rules, you will get burned.

These are Intertops rules on games ending "prematurely".

    4.4 Games are official after:

NFL AND COLLEGE FOOTBALL-55 minutes of play.
NBA BASKETBALL - 43 minutes of play.
COLLEGE BASKETBALL - 35 minutes of play.
NHL AND COLLEGE HOCKEY - 55 minutes of play.

Then you move to soccer and you get this:

RULES SPECIFIC TO SOCCER AND OTHER NON-AMERICAN SPORTS AND EVENTS

...If a game on your parlay is postponed or cancelled for any reason then your parlay will be evaluated on the games left in the parlay which still have action. For example a four team parlay will automatically become a three team parlay and so on and the odds will be reduced accordingly from a four team parlay to a three team parlay and so on.

5.2 For bets on soccer, the result of the game is decided after 90 minutes of play whereby injury/stoppage time is taken into consideration until the final whistle.

5.3 For non U.S. Sports (as defined by Intertops), if any match, game, or other event is interrupted or abandoned, then the result at the time of the interruption is valid, providing play is neither continued nor resumed within 48 hours.

This all relates to the The Worthington Cup match between Manchester City and Ipswich which was abandoned in the first half at 1-1 due to flooding.

So if you have this game in a parlay, it is being graded as a push, but if you have it straight up, it is graded as a tie.

Seems a little confusing. Why isn't there a 80 or 85 minutes rules in soccer like there is one for North American sports?

Could intertops please respond to this and clarify their rules?

Thanks and may all your bets be winners
