  • Asian Lines and Totals - momentum gathering?

    Getting interesting - yes Alec

Saw that interwetten has 'Asian Lines'

    0, 0.5 and 1 handicaps

Truly shitty odds of 1.75 either way though, so doubt they will drive many people in Asia away from their illegal bookies at a ridiculous 114%.

However, at least it happened. They feeling some competitive pressure from places like Olympic and Pinnacle or getting requests from clients? Interesting.

So the Austrians are in on it a bit now.

Also, Centrebet had French and German totals (1.85) midweek, as did Intertops (German, anyway). Growing there too - some big soccer bookies having a go - will it last?

    AV2,

I noticed that. And in general Interwetten has some nice offers. Promotion bets, for example. But the odds ...

Actually, what is the definition of an Asian Line? A spread line in soccer that is moved by 1/4 goal increments?

If so, then Interwetten spreads are not "Asian".

I am surprised that Ladbrokes offers Asian Lines (since Euro2000 I think) and with good odds. Maybe the other English books will join soon?

By the way, now I see that Ladbrokes takes 5% of the bet off in case of a push, haven't seen it before. Is it something new or I just missed it during Euro2000.

Ladbrokes always did that on their 'Asian' Bets.

As far as Interwetten goes, didn't read their rules, but the did have '0' handicap bets, so presumably they are - obviously they are not set up to do -0.25 etc. I would imagine.

Their Usual soccer handicaps are not handicaps as such it seems, but games shifted a goal, so you still have an evil 3-way type bet.

What do you mean by "always"? I believe the site www.ladbrokes.com itself is at most one year old. And I seriously doubt that they had any Asian Coupon before Euro2000.
