Getting the client's full name, addresses, account number don't guarantee anything. They will end up in "cold canvassing" marketing. And everyone knows what that means.

THIS IS WHAT YOU REALLY CALL A LOW LIFE MOTHER F*****G SCUM BAG.

THIS GUY L.M.AKA L.V.OWES THE WORLD.

SOME VERY PISSED OFF INDIVIDUALS ARE LOOKING ACTIVELY FOR HIM.

IT SEEMS HE DIDN'T SHOW UP AT A COUPLE OF LUNCH MEETINGS TO MAKE A FEW PAYMENTS ON THE SETLLEMENTS HE MADE FOR SOME PEOPLE HE COULDN'T BEAT.

THE GREEK AND OLYMPIC SPORTS OWES THIS LOW LIFE NOTHING.

ANYBODY WHO WOULD PURCHASE THIS FOR 65 CENTS LET ALONE 65 DIMES IS A BIGGER SCUM BAG THAN THE GUY SELLING IT!

Hello, My name is THE THIEF OF KINGSBET.

I OWE THE WORLD and I AM forced to take some drastic measures.

I now have the entire customer database of olympic sportsbook in my computer: full names, addresses, phones numbers and emails. It's a total of around 4,000 active sports betting customers, and I need to sell it to someone in the next few days BECAUSE I HAVE TO GET OUT OF TOWN AGAIN,THE PEOPLE I OWE WHO I HAVE TO PAY KNOW I'M IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC.

The price is US$65,000 US dollars, this includes the complete file emailed to you and my word that this list WILL NOT be sold any furder.

IF YOUR A BIG ENOUGH SCUM BAG TO PURCHASE THIS LIST YOU CERTAINLY MUST BE STUPID ENOUGH TO BELIEVE I'M ONLY SELLING IT TO YOU.

I HAVE MADE ENOUGH COPIES TO FILL THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS YOU IDIOT!

Just think of all the money in advertising your sportsbook has to go for to get this kind of clientele.

JUST THINK WHEN THE WORD GETS OUT THAT YOU WERE A BIG ENOUGH SCUM BAG TO PURCHASE THIS HOW ALL THE FORUMS WILL MAKE IT KNOWN.

DOES THE PHRASE,"RUN ON THE BANK",MEAN ANYTHING TO YOU?

You will be able to get your money back in a
few days, specially if you tell them that your casino DOES protect it's customer's information.

Who would be dumb enough to buy that hot list?

Someone will buy it, probably for a much lower price but I think someone will. Maybe that Tej fellow from Pyramid, it seems right up his alley.

Also remember, the lists do have a certain value beyond marketing for sports books. It probably has a certain value to touts and others.

But, we have all seen the kind of low lifes that although few in number have absolutely no scruples in this business, the above operation a perfect example.

Maybe the FBI will buy it? Of course if they do I am sure they will pay full price, that's their style.

No one will buy it. Anyone with $65,000 to spend for 40,000 names doesn't need it. Anyone dumb enough to spend that couldn't be smart enough to use it. If anyone does get this list and uses it, the negative reaction will cost them much more than $65,000. This is clearly an act of desperation and provides an opportunity to catch the *******s who perpetuated this crime. In the end Spiro and Olympic Sports will prove to be a stand-up guy and class organization that is worthy of everyone's business for alerting their customers to this situation and putting their client's best interests ahead of their own.

Everyone gets what they deserve in the end!

I don't think it will go for $65,000, but there is a price where that list is worth something to somebody. Those who are into mass marketing could give you a better answer regarding the value. There are accepted values per name to email lists, to address lists, to phone lists. There is added value to each when the list is "targeted." This list has all three and might possibly have more data. Remember this is a list of people that have demonstrated that they DO play.

What's it worth? $5 a name? $3 a name, $7 a name, who knows? At $5 a name that's $20,000. If I am running an operation and can buy 4,000 names at $5 each, convert 5% of them into customers, then I have paid about $100 per account. That is certainly in the ballpark (maybe cheap) for what many places pay these days to acquire accounts.

Of course word would spread like wildfire on these forums about how the list was acquired, and of course Olympic will put all of it's customers on notice as well. However just as it would take quite a lowlife to steal it, quite a lowlife to buy it there are a certain percentage of people out there who are:

                  1. Unaware of how their info was acquired, no matter how many times you tell them

                  2. Indifferent to how their info was acquired

                  3. many players might already be on several lists and assume it was acquired somewhere else

And to many of those people if you contact them and offer them a "deal" (bonuses) that sounds good they will take it. Not every player is a stand up guy and will reject it because of it's origins.

And like I oreviously stated the list might be of more value to a tout than a book.

Personally I hope the guy gets what he has coming.

skeptic - I think you overlook an important point.

OK, XXX Book buys the list and starts cold calling or mailing whatever ...

How long before it is posted all over the posting boards that XXX Book bought the stolen Olympic customer list??

Every watch dog group and posting board would immediately send warnings out on XXX Book and send them to their clinks!

You'd stand a better chance of restoring Action Sports good name than XXX Book's good name at that point ...

Any book manager will know - or find out VERY quickly - that that stolen list is pure poison ...

I don't think anyone would pay good money for a list if they didn't know it's source. Once their told it's Olympic's list they'd have to question WHY that person has Oly's list and is selling it. I don't see any innocent victims down the line.

                        Skeptic,
Sad to say, but you are right. For a fledling book, $20,000.00 for 4000 ACTIVE PLAYERS is a good deal. MLS and others, I would not expect cold calling to come from this transaction. The book will simply make a flyer to send to the 4000 clients with a coupon for a 20% BONUS or FREE PLAY. That would be enought to get 10 or 20% or those players. This would be very easy to offer when you are talking about a population of people that are DEFINATELY a part of the target market.

                          MLS,

Unfortunately I think only a very small percentage read these boards.

Look at how many people are still taken in by TNT. And we just know the ones we hear about, there are others we never know about.

I stand by my 3 points in my prior post.

Who'd buy the list? My money would be on SBC..Hey Spiros, can you put a line up on that?? Seriously, if you are an Olympic customer and get called in the near future about opening an account, we'll know the source.

Three more sportsbook operators called me this morning. They explained they have been contacted by someone wanting to sell them the list. This guys are getting desperate. If anyone decides to do any business with this guys, be very, very carefull. I,ve learned, I'm not the only one they've screwed.
