Wager Scenario..... How would you bet it.....

This is a real scenario and I am just curious how someof you would have played this bet. I didn't bet it, so I am curious on how you view this.

Bowling Green 10 Toledo 17 Halftime

1 sportsbook offered

Toledo - 7 1/2 -200 BG + 7 1/2 + 170

The other offered

Toledo -12 1/2 -115 BG + 12 1/2 -105

If I really had to place a bet, and considering I know absolutely nothing about these teams, I would simply go for the best value, which, assuming that each half point costs 10 cents, is BG +12.5, -105. If I really wanted Toledo, I'd take 'em at -7.5, -200, again assuming I know nothing about these teams. I'd throw the other options right out.

If I had info on these guys, it may be a different story.

Freak, after all the religion talk in the forum recently, I'd assume one book was in error. Someone else would take the value and the money, and I'd be twiddling my thumbs.

In actuality, one of the books probably had a big side position (and the other book could have had the other).

i decided, many games ago, always to lay the extra juice to take advantage of the better line

i only bet the game if i think i'm going to win it and, when i do, i get all the juice back anyway

this question comes up all the time, though not as extreme, when shopping 1st half lines in the NFL

Each game is diffrent,no rules,dont use rules,each game has own personality,B-Green probably wont be kicking FGS so lay 12 if you like Toledo and take 7.5 if you like B.Green,in NFl more fgs though,lay-200 you have to hit huge% to show profit.-160 maybe not -200.

As it played out, Toledo totally destroyed BG in the 2nd half so the scenario of a split win didnt happen.

There was no mistakes in these lines, I monitored them during the half and it was kinda bizarre to say the least.
