Question as to what some of you may think of this. Fairdeal posted a line of Emonton +1.5 last night in NHL vs Calgary. Should have been -1.5. This is the second bum line that they posted this weekend. Last time I notified a book of a bad line I got a $25 dollar reward which is fairly insignficant so this time I just bet the game. Took Edmonton +1.5. I never received any notification that this bet was ever canceled but today when I asked them to grade the wager they said they had to call tech support. Checked my account again and they canceled the bet.
In my opinion this is BS after the game has already been played. If they canceled the bet pregame and sent me an email notice I have no problems.
Has anyone ever had this happen?

Sorry, but I will always side with the books on this one, no matter when they cancel.

That's not to say that this is how I prefer that they would handle your situation. If that's the line they post, and someone bets into it, I feel that the book should honor the wager; I always take a hardline approach towards corporate operations, because standards should be high, and these consequences breed better future performance. But whoever bets into the bad line would be gone - IMMEDIATELY!!! (with their account paid in full).

The hardline street should be a two-way one: the book and the customer should pay (or be rewarded) for their actions. Say if a customer consistently bails books out of bad lines, why not give them, for example, an additional 5% atop a standard re-up bonuses. The $25 is a nice "thank-you", and I do always appreciate this sign of good will. And the reward goes well beyond its materiality (talking about that "warm, fuzzy feeling you get by facilitating civility).

HOWEVER, sticking with the hardline motif, if one bets into an ostensibly bad line, they're not only gone, but BM's should even consider warning other books about said breacher of good faith.

In sum, no, I don't think they should have canceled your wager, but that doesn't mean that I agree with your betting "philosophy".

I have to disagree with the previous post. I have bet won and been paid on "reverse" lines.
I would not have a problem if a book cancelled my wajor in this instance. No action is fair. I do not believe it is fair to punish a bettor for a house mistake so I cannot see banning a player who takes the bad line.
I am sure many square sucker type players took the +1.5 line just thinking " Hey, thats a good bet!", with no bad intentions. It does the house no good to ban such players, this is akin to tossing the baby out with the bathwater.
As a bettor, go ahead and take the bad line. Be happy if you win and they pay. If you lose, you lose. If they call it no action, so be it.

i played with them during baseball season and i did had one incident with them, but i didn't listed pitcher so it was completely my fault. what happened was they had wrong pitcher listed for white sox. note: white sox did not change pitcher. the pitcher that was listed the night before pitch the following day. so on i go, i cap my game the night before ,check the line and it was the same line they given. since i bet it real late i didn't bother to look at the pitcher since i thought it was the pitcher i thought that wagerline had the night before + the price is the same. i found out when i check my confirmation e-mail and saw a different pitcher listed on the e-mail but the pitcher that pitch was the right pitcher that i had in mny mind.
....anyway, white sox lost the bet.
not sure if this make any sense... lol

Cancelling a bet after it lost for the book! Nothing short of criminal!
