SUPERBOOK AND PREMIER LEAGUE MERGE
TO CREATE LARGEST CARIBBEAN SPORTSBOOK & CASINO OPERATION
St. John’s, Antigua, British West Indies, November 10, 2000
Two of the best known sportsbooks in the business – Superbook and Premier League – are joining forces to create one of the largest betting and gaming operations in the Caribbean.
The merger follows considerable growth and development for each of the Antigua-based operations during the first half of the NFL season. With combined annual turnover in excess of $750 million the owners of the two companies decided the time was right to combine their commercial, financial and technical expertise to take a dominant position in the marketplace.
Superbook is part of the Victor Chandler group of companies. Established in Great Britain more than 54 years ago the group has expanded from providing betting services at horse racing and dog tracks in the UK to an international telephone and internet gaming operation serving markets and players throughout the world.
Premier League, owned by the Hadeed family, has enjoyed rapid growth thanks to their assertive marketing and reputation for exemplary customer service and tremendous wagering value. Premier League boasts a strong, loyal client base generated and maintained with progressive technology and customer relations.
With their huge combined annual turnover the alliance will position the Superbook/Premier League brands as the most influential and secure powerhouse of the sports betting and online casino industry.
With offices in London, Gibraltar, Bangkok and Hong Kong, Victor Chandler recently added Antigua in the British West Indies to it distinguished list of corporate operation sites to better serve its North and South American clients.
To enhance the online visitor’s gaming pleasure, Superbook & Premier League provide an online casino with software from Softech Services of Costa Rica. Other features unique to Superbook include a comprehensive sports news, information and photographic service in association with Sportsnetwork.com and sports stats with marketing partner Sports Reporter. To further leverage its strong brand name and online presence, an extended casino site will emerge through an agreement with Chartwell International bringing the development investment figure to just over $2.5 million.
