  • WARNING: WALL STREET SPORTS is a SCAM!!

Had an extended internet chat with one of their "help" people, Jonny. AT 12:45pm eastern, NONE of their lines were posted and I asked why. He brought it to their attention and said it was a technical problem..sure enough, the lines were posted a few minutes later. But when I asked about licensing, I got the "we're licensed in different places" response. When I asked him specifically about where the sportsbook was licensed, he said he "wasn't allowed to give out that information"! He instructed me to send an e-mail to the cashier, and they would pass it on to the upervisors..HMMMMMM..
Then, I asked if they did transfers with other books. He said "Yes" and asked me to name which ones. I rattled off several large Don Best books, and even one on Margarita Island. He said NO to all of them. I then asked which ones DO they do transfers with and again, there was no answer. When I asked how long they have been operating as a sports book under the name "Wall Street", after dodging the question twice, he came up with three years. I never heard of these guys until THIS year.. WHAT A SCAM..YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!

UPDATE: Received an e-mail from Wall Street that claims the book is licensed in Antigua. They opened for business under this name in June of 1999, which makes them not three years ols, like the clerk claimed, but 1 1/3 years in business. They also say they are a sister book to Sportsbook.com which has been "doing business since 1996". Can anyone confirm these statements? Why they refused to give this info out when I first asked, is disturbing...

Tim- If the sportsbook you are referring to is www.wallstreet.com then they are a solid, reputable out. They fall under the Playersonly umbrella of sportsbooks. They are a huge organization and often when dealing with a clerk in businesses of this type the information recieved is wrong or distorted, not because they are lying to you but because they don't even know.

The clerk took a very long time to answer the questions. He talked around the licensing issue several times, even though I repeated the specific nature of the question. It was obvious to me that he was being fed info. On the transfer of funds question, I asked who they deal with, and he wouldn't answer that. He then asked ME what books I would be interested in doing transfers with. As previously stated, I mentioned several books and he said that they didn't work with any of them. When I asked AGAIN what books they DO deal with, he said that he couldn't give out that information. What in the hell are they hiding? It's simple questions that everyone should ask before opening an account and they deserve answers. I did get an answer to my one question via e-mail but was lied to about them being in business three years. This lie IS common with most sportsbooks and I can forgive it. Can't let the other cloak and dagger stuff get by, though...

          Tim,
I used to do the advertising for Wall St. I feel quite certain that you spoke with a very poorly trained operator. I don't think there was any intention of cheating you. As far as I know, they have paid everyone they are suppose to. They are trying to grow and good help is hard to come by.

There are 2 Wall St books. The one JD was referring to used to send me their schedules....there was a gray haired guy with lots of cash on the cover. Players Only's wallstreet.com is not the same book.

I never said that I was cheated. Was merely explaining what happened when I contacted them. Honestly, we were involved in this internet dialogue for at least 30 minutes and I am confident that he was being fed info. It just took an eternity to answer my questions. They might be a very straightforward book when it comes to payouts. Maybe "scam" was a bit harsh, but when a book refuses artfully dodges questions, I lose interest. Hey, SHIEK! How are ya? For the record, my conversation took place with wallsteet.com

Wall Street Superbook wouldn't try to deceive you. Are you sure which "wall street" you called? If it was Wall Street Superbook, call back and speak to someone in charge. They are a class organization and I would be truely surprised if there is not some mix-up.

Once again, it was "wallstreet.com", NOT the wall street superbook. BTW, since I had to send an e-mail to ascertain what locale their sportsbook is licensed in, I'm now on their e-mail spam list!!!!
