I agree Gore got ripped.To make sure this does not happen in the future they need to have ballots printed in multi national languages and have color in picture of your candidate for the illiterate.

Sometimes, I think people are so stewpid that they don't deserve to vote! You have to give a break to the elderly, though. Apparently, the ballot's design was illegal and never should have been issued. Too many funny stories coming out of Florida. I would bet 20 dimes that if they had a re-vote in the state Gore would win hands down. If they had just dumped the antiquated electoral college, we wouldn't have to go through this..then again, I hear that ONE MILLION absentee ballots have yet to be counted in California! They could give Bush the popular vote!! Maybe we should have a co-presidency..

It's clear Gore got screwed by these ballots in Florida, but there is no fair way to fix that. If there is a re-vote, all the Nader people will switch to Gore, screwing Bush over at least as much as Gore is now screwed! So probably Bush wins by a few hundred, and we'll never know who would've won with a better ballot; controversy is now unavoidable no matter what happens.

Agreed, unless they do the hand count or a revote in the one county, although that might put Gore over the top.

Speaking as a vet with this being vet day,all I can say is regardless who the next president is,it will have to be an improvment over the past 8 years.What an embarassment to those that have risk their lives to have whom we have had as not only president but commander and chief of armed services.It has been apparent that courage,honesty and integrity are qualities no longer considered and its a damn shame.
