I feel like I get hosed a little extra playing offshore because I'm Canadian and play from up here in the Great White North....and I'd like to find a book that is totally Canadian friendly...eh.
My most recent bad experience came courtesy of WWTS, which, don't get me wrong, is a great book.
My account there is in Canadian dollars and last week I transferred in a large amount from WSEX in $US. (WSEX doesn't have Canadian dollar accounts - which is another pet peeve, but I digress). Anyway, WWTS exchanges the money at $1.47 on the dollar and puts it in my account. Well, as all good Canucks could tell you, our dollar is currently in the toilet and the going exchange rate is $1.52.
This little transaction cost me about $500 (US$327) and when I called to complain I got absolutely nowhere.
This, of course, is not unusual. Any Canadian bettor can tell you of the ripoffs he or she has suffered because of nationality.
Just send a Western Union in Canadian dollars to a book that accepts only US dollars and watch about 5% of your money disappear during the exchange courtesy of WU.
Most books consider incoming loonies a bother, a nuisance, or some kind of an attempted ripoff.
Please...someone......tell me you want my business and will treat me fairly, even though I am Canadian.
