Prop wager clarification and question

Had a couple of players ask about prop wagers today, and whether they should be paid if they bet player x to get more hits than player z in a baseball game, if player z doesn't play.

To the best of my knowledge, both players have to start for the bet to have action.

Anyone have a different take?

Every place I have dealt with treats it that way on a game by game basis.

If it was for the series and a player didn't play a game or two that would be different.

Jeff...If it would come from LVSC it would carry the stipulation "both must play" but it is still up to each individual store. They should stipulate their own rules.
