  • Sportfanatik not paying out

I have been having a serious problem collecting money from Sportsfanatik. It's only a couple thousand, but to me that's a big deal.

Their own records clearly show the balance in my account, and they did send me a "token" payment of $900. But where's the rest of it?

This has been a dispute for several months now, and the worst part is how poor their customer service has been. Phone calls get me the run around as they promise to have someone "look into it". And they no longer even respond to my e-mails.

Just wanted to let people know in case this is more than an isolated instance.

I also want to ask if anyone else has had bad experiences with Sportsfanatik. Are they crooks, and is my money lost for good? Or should I stick with this and try to sort it out?

    Thanks.

I'm almost at the point where I'm willing to give up.

the footballguys - Just my opinion if it helps but I would say that it is definately worth pursuing any money that you have won from ANY sports book. This seems to be an awful long time for a 'dispute' to be dragging on for. Is this a simple case of you requesting a withdrawl or is there more to it?

If this is a simple withdrawl situation then there is no excuse for the book not to have
paid you by now. You have to take into account the fact that some books really do have piss poor customer service and that their reps are sometimes totally incoherent, not to mention incompetent. In such a case as frustrating as it might seem you have to just keep on at them until you get paid.

It may just be a case of the book having a bit of a cash flow problem, we have heard that the books are taking a beat at the moment. Again, in this scenario keep on at them because if they are a bit shady if you don't they might just keep the cash when they do get back on their feet.

My last scenario I'm afraid is the nightmare one, they've gone bust or they are just stiffing you. As far as I am concerned if this is the case I would advise you to get straight back in here and tell us all everything that you know about the company. Don't forget this is why we all log into this site to find out information like that. Then some of the other guys will not make the same mistake, if you choose not to do that, then the book will just keep getting away with it, don't let them.

Hope that this helps you some
    Good Luck

      IMO sportfanatik is solid.

Any further answer to your post requires that we know what the "dispute" was about.

If the "dispute" was a past post bet, obvious bad line bet, etc, etc, then you wasting your time. If you have a valid claim why keep it from us??

Without knowing the "dispute" no one can opine whether you or the book is at fault.

Since people are curious, here's the details of the situation.

I am owed this money (roughly 2K still due)because of referal comissions for bringing other business and customers to them through their referal program. When I log into my account, it clearly shows the money is there.

When I first requested a payout I was told they would send a cheque at the end of the month. A month later, nothing. I sent them an e-mail and was told they'd get back to me. Nothing. A follow up phone call and I was told that the call center couldn't help me, since the money was earned through comissions rather than wagers, but they would get someone to get in touch with me and sort things out.

Several e-mails passed back and forth and they finally sent me a cheque for $900 - about a third of what they owe me.

I sent an e-mail asking about the rest of the money (which their own on-line records show as being owed to me), and they did not reply.

That's where I'm at now. If I send an e-mail from another e-mail address and don't tell them my name, they reply right away and say they will help if I send them my name and account. As soon as I give them my name and account number, they stop replying to my e-mails. It's like they think if they pretend I don't exist then they don't have to pay me.

No explanation, no cheque. Just a frustrating wall of silence for the last two months.

So there's the story. Poor customer service (really no service), and a large balance showing on my account which I can't seem to collect.

This is particularly frustrating because I used to be under the impression Sportfanatik was a fairly reputable book. Either they aren't reputable, or they have decided to screw me for no apparent reason.

The least they could do is give me an explanation as to why they won't pay me, but I suspect there is no valid explanation which is why they just ignore me instead.

What a crock o' crap! This are the same lies and run around I have been hearing since APRIL! I'm supposed to get a cheque every month (plus that 2K in back pay you owe me), but you've sent me nothing since the $900!
And by the way, that $900 was sent out when my balance was already well over $2500 past due. Why didn't you just send me a cheque for the full amount in the first place? Seems like you were hoping I'd just forget about the rest.

No check in April. No cheque for May. Nothing in June. Get the picture? Did all of these payments get "lost in the mail?" Where's my $183 bucks from August? Oh, wait, I know. Lost in the mail. Just like the other half dozen missing payments, right? What a coincidence.

Did you send out my $480.06 for September on October 20th like you were supposed to? I doubt it.

If this is just a case of international mail foul-ups, why does nobody ever respond to my e-mails? When I ask for details about the payments (amount of cheque sent out, date it was sent, address it was sent to) I get NO ANSWER from you!

Or I get the stock answer of "We send checks to all our resellers every month." NOT TO ME YOU DON'T!

When I ask what is being done to correct this, or I ask why I am not being paid I get NO ANSWER!

Unless, of course, I pretend to be someone else - then I get an answer right away. But as soon as I give my account number, you start ignoring me again!

I'm willing to work this out with you. I've been patient. But all my inquiries are met with an appalling lack of response on your end. Your service in this matter is the worst I have ever experienced in the industry.

Sorry if I seem a little irate, but six months of lies and dozens of ignored e-mail requests for information tend to get me worked up.

If I ever do get paid, rest assured I will apologize and let everyone know Sportfanatik came through.

But don't have the gall to come on this board and pretend this is a minor issue of misdirected mail! I've heard this story WAY too many times to buy it anymore. The only way I'll believe this is when I see the cheque in my hand.

Please just pay me what you owe me. That's all I ask. Then this issue can be put to rest.

            Thank you.

SPORTSIDIOT/FAN, YOU MUST HAVE EMPLOYERS WHO TOLERATE TOTAL INCOMPENTENCE FROM WHAT APPEARS TO BE A LESS THAN CONCERNED CUSTOMERS SERVICE AGENT. A STOP PAYMENT ON A CHECK SHOULD BE HANDLED WITHIN 48 HOURS MAX. IN FACT THE TIME YOU WASTED TYPING THAT TOTAL BOGUS RESPONSE, COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER SPENT CUTTING ANOTHER CHECK. CRAWL WEAKLY BACK INTO OUR HOLE AND HOPEFULLY YOU'LL GROW A PAIR AND SEE TO IT THIS MATTER IS HANDLED EXPEDIENTLY. NEVER CEASES TO AMAZE ME HOW SOME PEOPLE INTERPERT INTEGRITY. YOUR A DISGRACE, BUT WHY TELL YOU SOMETHING YOUR MOTHER ALREADY KNOWS. CHEERS, misty.

What are the odds on a check being lost in the mail? A million to 1 or more? When it comes to some books, the odds drop to even money. What a joke. Jeff, open a window.
