  • Question on Integrity

    Hello all,

I bet Calgary +.5 yesterday but my book showed that I took Phoenix -.5. Now, I did not print out the ticket but I am pretty sure I picked Calgary. I reviewed my tickets last night because I constantly check my account to see if it is updated and I did not see any problems.

Now I may be a little paranoid since I am sure the book could care less about reversing my bet since I bet peanuts, BUT do you think the books occasionally switch tickets or reverse bets made over the internet? The only proof you would have would be to print out each ticket and very few gamblers (like me) take the time to protect themselves.

Does anyone have a similar experience?
This not only stings the pocketbook, but I think I am feeling more pain in my head.

I have occasionally selected the "wrong" side. I find out about when my balance doesn't match my expectation. 50% of the time it goes in my favor and 50% of the time it goes against. I use WSEX and can say unequivocally that they DON'T switch tickets.

i would be confident that none of the books listed here would engage in that type of behavior

i did have one case where the book miscalculated round robin winnings which i found unusual only because i thought their calculation processes were automated

i would feel safe with any of the books listed at the bottom of this page

      good luck

I am ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY sure that books will not attempt to switch tickets. If someone has the "balls" to do it or even think about doing that, that would be the most stupid thing to do on their part. So much is on the line for them to even think about it.

I agree with others here that no book with even half a grain of integrity would intentionally change a ticket. But could their software screw it up? Maybe, in the case of a new software package or one that was just updated (not sufficiently tested).

With the phone, you have the tape as a verification. With the computer, you either have to print out the confirmation or accept the results. I think the e-mail confirmation option is one of the best tools.
