    Royal Review
    By Victor Ludourem

As they say in ancient Egyptian archaeology “This stuff is getting OLD!”.
Royal got ‘Bedazzled’ again by college football team from great state of South Carolina.
That makes 3 weeks in a row that the Gamecocks have raided our henhouse, so to speak.
This week another huge win, 30-14, for the growing number of SC supporters at Royal that now equal the population of Charleston. Has Lou Holtz sold his soul to Liz Hurley? Seven out eight against the spread have many bookmakers wondering. Does anyone really know for sure?
And the beat goes on….Who knew the Miners from UTEP would so disrespect the SPCA in their treatment of the Bulldogs from Fresno. Somebody KNEW and must have told Larry King and Paul Harvey! The line went from –1 to –4, but that didn’t stop them from loading the mine train with Royal gold with an easy 23-13 victory. Now you know the rest of the story.
The Purdue Boilermakers surprised some 80,000 Homecoming Wisconsin fans, serving a taste of Underwood’s Deviled Badger for dessert in overtime. Bettors were not fooled however, as the line was driven hard up from 3.5 to 6 for the kickoff in Madison. The visitors blocked FG attempt returned for a TD was the difference here. Shop and save. Everyone who shopped early cashed a ticket. Those who waited got a push.
The lone bright spot was that Michigan –17 only wolverined the Michigan State Spartans by a score of 14-0. Pitching a shutout was not enough for the maize and blue.
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…..so describes Saturday and Sunday in reverse order. Had it not been for all the teasers keyed to both the Colts and the Vikings Fat Tuesday would have been royally celebrated in Curacao early this year. Most of the pro stuff went our way when Corey Dillon’s record setting rushing performance helps Cincinnati brand the Broncos in their own Mile High corral. The Bengals +10 beat Denver outright 31-21.
It was a bad day for horses in general, as the Colts –8.5 vs. New England went down like Pamela Anderson in a home-video.
Public sentiment from the Sons of Jefferson Davis caused the linemaker to switch favorites in the Saints-Falcons ‘Battle for ol’ Dixie’. In a very closely fought contest even though New Orleans wins 21-19, the final score was Royal 1 Confederacy 0.
