The following is a response I posted on another forum addressing the issue at hand -


To put closure to this seemingly ridiculous unraveling of events, GameDay has awarded Parlay his referral bonus to show good faith and to put any uncertainties to rest. More importantly, I think we can all move on to bigger and better things rather than spatting over a bonus. In addition I would like to comment on a few issues brought up over the course of the last few days.
First - "A Warning To GameDay Customers"
A little harsh on the title dont you think? I was interested to say the least when I say the thread, I thought we went out of business overnight while I was sleeping, or the sky was falling, but much to my surprise I was reading a thread about a bonus.

Unfortunately it is difficult to please everyone, although we try, each player has their own opinions and has their own criterion of what the perfect book consists of. However, I would like to speak with you in greater length as we are always eager to hear our weaknesses to allow us to improve upon them.

Fliime, Neemer, LP7Slip, Mad Jack etc...- I appreciate the good words as it seems only the negatives surface and the positives are swept under the rug. There are always two sides to the coin, and different opions surrounding the outcome of a situation such as this, as is evident from the various posts in the multiple forums this has surfaces on. To inform all, GameDay is a solid organization and a top tier book who has the dedication, motivation, and resources to position itself on top of this fast paced industry.

As Parlay mentioned, it is not the $150 that's the issue, but merely a policy that was in question that we stood behind. If our company policies hold no ground then we might as well not have any. This is a lesson learned for us as well as our rules/regs page does not clearly provide an answer for the situation in question, which will be corrected in the days to come.

In regards to the above comment found on another forum, this is definately not the case. These forums are excellent and are a huge attribute to the industry as some books choose to have a louder voice than others, but if you are an avid follower to any/all of the popular gambling forums, you will notice that GameDay has never been and probably never will be much for voicing an opinion. As many others can agree, there are many other things to do in a day other than check the forums. If anyone felt we were dodging the situation at hand, we have links and phone numbers located everywhere on the net!

I am going to take a different stance.

I am not certain on who you spoke with, and I am not certain on who posted here saying they are from gameday.

My experience with them has been nothing but splendid.

Do I think you should get a bonus for the referral. I think you are entitled to something as to what I am not certain.

Blake runs a good sportsbook and takes care of his players. You don't see complaints about service, lack of payouts, delays or any interruption of service.

Your situation is unique indeed. You have an account with no balance and didn't fund any of your own $$$ at any time, from what I read by whomever posted from Gameday.

Assuming it's true, seeing you haven't come back to disagree with it, let's say that someone opens an account at all the books they can, and never post up any money.

They send people and live off referals...

Is that what the books want.... of course not. Is it right ?? Is it wrong ?? Does it matter ??

Who knows......

Now I am not saying you did this, nor would you. I am sure there are people out there that do, the book is looking at it's bottom line.

I like the fact that you referred the player and they posted up. Again I think you deserve something. So I am not against that.

What I suggest you do is call or e-mail Blake and advise as to what took place and see how he handles it.

Knowing Blake he will handle it the right way.

I also would say that whomever posted saying they are from gameday isn't Blake.

It certaintly isn't his style period.

I am also glad to hear that Parlay is to be paid his bonus. If there is a posted policy for bonuses, and no posted exception for this special case (an account gained through a contest), then there should be no exception.

What readers here really worry about is extrapolating this to other possible situations. They would worry about how many other possible unwritten rules and exceptions exist. Perhaps there are wagers that would be voided or reversed due to some unspecified policy. You get the picture.

Posters read in between the lines, to see how a book deals with its customers. A book has to go out of its way to be fair, and to make sure everyone knows that they are fair.

skip - i appreciate your resolving this in my favor. while that is nice for me, as i stated earlier, that is really not the issue.
it would be a case of me winning a battle but losing the war.
what about lp7slip? isn't he entitled to that bonus?
you indicated that you would clarify the policy so there were no questions and i may have to accept that as the best i can do but i hope not. i hope you will change your policy to make a referral a referral. if someone has an acct setup, regardless of how it was funded, regardless of how much is in the acct, they get the bonus.
put more onerous restrictions on the bonus, such as you play it 2x or even 3x.
it had never occurred to me that someone would go around tallying up bonuses wherever they could. i guess it is possible but very unlikely as people usually reward friends or trade one bonus for another. also, the bonuses are usually so restrictive and so small, that it wouldn't be worth the trouble.
5% is 5% below the industry standard but that is known and your choice. if that bothers someone, they can go elsewhere. ultimately, none of us are playing for the bonuses.

i want to thank everyone for their responses and opinions. pro or con, it was helpful to me. it is good to know folks are interested and i do appreciate the support i received.

i also want to apologize if i got carried away at all(i can do that).

i want to say that i was concerned b/c of the responses i got toward the end of my conversation. however, i understand stress and i have been short w/my share of people. i would hope the situation is over.

i would like to comment on a few things said by skip. 1st, i agree that this situation was ridiculous. i tried to address it professionally but was left with no choice but to go where a response would be necessary. one of my concerns is what kind of a business would play hardball over something so silly.

the title of the thread seemed to cause some concern. a warning is simply that. warning someone that they might be treated less than courteously or that they might not receive a referral bonus if they didn't have any money in their acct could help someone in the future. if your book was going under, the title would have been 'get out of gameday now'. i think you are overreacting.
as i have said repeatedly, this was not about the bonus. it was about the pinciple and the courteousy.

as far as my comment about you not responding quickly, it was a knee-jerk comment and out of line. you have a business to run and i was wrong. i apologize.

since not all these folks are 'net nomads' like i am, the addressing of multiple threads from multiple forums might be confusing but i understand you couldn't respond individually.

i want to say that i think you have shown yourself to be a professional and if nothing else, you got several good endorsements from some well-respected people. i hope you might respond one more time to let us know about how you resolve lp7slips no bonus and the problem that occurred. i hope you will resolve it as i suggest above. regardless, when i tap out this bonus on thurs or sat, i will considered reloading with you.

p.s. will i get a reload bonus

Recently signed up with them and noticed they sweated a little. They are a smart bunch they get all of us to sign up with the no juice on sides totals and halves and then change it by taking away the no juice halves and half totals.

Thanks for the message. I was traveling during your situation and was not involved. I am, however, glad to hear it was resolved to your satisfaction.

I am not familiar with lp7slip's situation, and I don't believe we have heard from him. I would be glad to speak with him on the phone and attempt to resolve it.

With regards to policy updates, we are looking for the best solution here, and will have something more concrete very soon.

My problem was merely a problem at all but I was in the same situation as parlay. This guy neemer from another site let me have the referral that he had, i dont know his actuall name but anywho. my account name is Lockport7 if you could cross reference it i would be grateful.
