Christmas Accomodations in Costa Rica

OK, I know it's off-topic, but I USUALLY stay on the subject of sportsbooks. Anyway, I'm thinking of coming to Costa Rica with my family for a Christmas vacation. I've obviously waited later than would be ideal to plan such a trip, but I'm trying anyway.

My first choice (wish) was to arrive in San Jose on Dec 23rd and go straight to the Tabacon Lodge and Hot Springs, see the volcano and do the nature things for a few days. Then we would go to the Melia Playa Conchal beach resort for several days and relax. Finally, we would return to San Jose for one night before the return flight on Jan 2nd or 3rd.

Of course what I found was that everything fills up for this time of the year.

Any comparable suggestions that might still be available?

I suggest you and Momma stuff your pockets with about 10 dimes apiece from your favorite sportsbooks profits. Not sure if a minor child can have that kind of jingle on them.

If you don't already have reservations I doubt you'll be able to bask in the sun down here in beautiful Costa Rica this year. I think your best shot is to have your travel agent look for charter flights going to Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia, Guanacaste; it's closer to Tabacón and Playa Conchal than Coco Int. Airport located in Alajuela. Good luck finding that charter.

Sportshobby, I know from personal experience that sportsbooks will be glad to help players who visit their city. I'm sure that more than one book will be able to get you discount hotel and car rental rates. And because you are a prolific poster, it will pay off in spades for any sportsbook that asists you. The positive publicity that your BW report will generate for the book will easily outweigh any outlay on their part.

Thanks for all the replies and help. I am holding a reasonable air reservation (although it could have been done earlier for less money). And I think I may have lodging lined up, but it's not yet confirmed.

Droopster, here's a question for you: My two boys (age 9 and 11) want to drive a moped or small trail motorcycle during the trip, probably during the beach stay. Are rentals and nearby/suitable trails common in the area? I'll probably keep them off the roads.

sportshobby. to try to answer the question if you are in playa conchal I know for sure you can reant jet skis, andin the beach next to it Flamingo you can rent motorcycles (mopeds or 4 wheelers)and you can also get them at a near by beach called tamarindo (you might wanna take a spin if you are staying at the melia playa conchal its a 20 minute ride and they have nice beaches so your kids can ride.. also if you plan to go to jaco there you can really get a variety of bikes for your kids to ride all over i would sugest a little 50cc 4 wheeler should do the trick .Just try to keep them of the road just to be safe .. and you never know when a trafic cop will be lurking by ...sportshobby if ya got any other questions for me reach me at [email protected] .. oh and when you stay at the melia its a beautiful beach ..But it has a strong undertow!!
