  • Betandwin review

We've just published the latest of our reviews-series (now 16 bookies reviewed). This time it's Betandwin, the Austrian bookie.

Please read the review at www.bettingadvice.com and post your thoughts. We certainly do recommend this bookmaker, but some of you may not, for some reason. We'd like to hear about it

    Regards

I have an interesting story about them ...

Early last NBA season I was killing them. After a verrrry SLOW pay situation I complained to their licensing authority ...

Betandwin retaliated by writing a letter to the Knox County, Tennessee judge "advising" him that I was gambling illegally on the internet.

Now the judge and I happened to go to college together and had quite a laugh!

"My" opinion of betandwin ... what do you think?

although your story is interesting, you should be objective
      * you were not killing them on NBA, because you are the NBA-god, but they had terrible (in my opinion self-destroying) odds.
      * I do not believe, that you had contact with the licensing authority - I am very familar with Austrian law - I would like to hear, what authority you have contacted
      * if you are not allowed to bet, it should not be a problem of the bookmaker you bet with, but a problem of you and your state (Why do you bet, if you are not allowed to ??? )
*Tennessee seems to be a cool place - you know the judge and all problems are solved - Wow !!!

Ok, you have made bad expieriences (although I am sure you have received your money), but they have improved a lot.
The fact, that they are licensed in Austria, is only a problem for bettors from states, where you are not allowed to bet.
For everybody else it is an advantage - I personally do feel better, when I bet with a company not located in a Caribean country, but in a country with a well working law system.

If somebody should ever have a legal problem with a bookmaker located in Austria, just mail - I think I can help.

Bert - that has to be about the most ridiculous "defense" I have ever heard.

Lets see ... Betandwin is in Austria ... Bert lives in Austria ... and works for (I wonder who) ...

Additional info for "bert" of betandwin:

          (1) As to how I learned who their licensing authority is - pretty simple - as you (maybe) know Austrian licensing requirements mandate that a contact number be provided by the book if requested by the bettor in a dispute. So betandwin had no choice - either get in more trouble or give me the phone number. Once I called the licensing authority I faxed them a formal complaint of failure to pay.

          (2) As to the legallity of internet betting in Tennessee - who knows, who cares? Even our county judge didn't know - or care. I am sure betandwin didn't know - it was simply a childish vindictive action taken on the whim it might cause me trouble.

          (3) Yes I did finally get paid - all it took was about a dozen or so phone calls, E-mails, and faxes.

Betandwin - a stand up book!

Everyone else? Rubbish. There are a large number of countries where betting is illegal, do they write to the judges in all these countries as well? Singapore, Pakistan, India, or wherever? I very much doubt it. I have seen Interwetten for example talk about offering Singapore soccer because they have a lot of clients from Singapore, where betting is illegal! Sounds like petty vindictiveness to me. As far as the review goes 13-15% on soccer is pretty uncompetitive.

mls, good work to expose these guys.

You may be a good candidate to take over Boomer's job of finding and trying out all the off-the-beaten-path sportsbooks.
