  • Victor Chandler - What are your limits?

VC - what are your betting limits for pro and college football (sides and totals)? I can't seem to find them posted anywhere on your site, and the clerks can't seem to tell me. Only after I try and make a wager am I then told what is the limit, which seems to vary according to some unknown formula.

    Sportshobby,

They'll probably come on here and answer the question. As for myself I'm quite sure they give me $5K on sides and $1K on totals for pro football. I've never used them for college.

      sportshobby,
As we have always stated we are reluctant to give limits that we religiously stick to. Various factors can affect a wager which means that we do not like to guarantee limits.

However for this Football Season I have produced 'limits' which should be used as a guide only:

      NFL:
      20,000 Sides
      10,000 Totals
      3,000 1st Half Sides
      1,000 1st Half Totals
      5,000 2nd Half Sides
      3,000 2nd Half Totals

      College:
      10,000 Sides
      5,000 Totals
      2,500 1st Half Sides
      1,000 1st Half Totals
      4,000 2nd Half Sides
      2,000 2nd Half Totals

These are Day Of Game limits and do NOT include circled games.
I hope that this answers your question. If in future you experience problems, do not hesitate to ask for me personally and I will explain any reason behind the decision.

        Gregg,

I like your answer. The limits should be flexible at the discretion of the book. As a maximum bet player I'm probably one of the few of us crybabies who has no problem with that. My experiences over the years have been very positive at Victor Chandler's. Your oddsmakers are a very tough group to beat however. Hats off to you!

Gregg, thanks for the response. I hope that you are able to keep these limits most of the time, and I do understand occasional exceptions.

I went through a stretch of a couple weeks in which HALF of my attempted wagers were limited to a nickel. So these weren't the occasional type.

Shawnee, a book is certainly entitled to set its own limits. But it seems only fair to the player to know what the limit is before he makes the play, not after. Circled games should be indicated as such on the website lines.

Gregg, I have never seen your 2nd half lines on your web site. Is halftime betting telephone only?

              sportshobby,
As I said before, if you do experience any problems, I will try to explain any decision personally.

              Sheik,
At the moment halftime betting is only available on the phone - if you have an internet account you can still call through to us however and place a wager.
This is a software problem and we hope to resolve it soon.
