Is it just me or does anyone else think that sports book advertising has sunk to new lows? I am referring to the use of women's body parts and sexual references. I will not name any names yet.

How do the site operators fell about these ads?

I personally think it is a bad image for the industry. It was one thing when places started putting pretty women in their ads but some of them are just getting ridiculous now.

What else would you expect from an industry that is built on greed? And why should they hide it?

"Bad image for the industry?" Their image never was good in the first place.

I have to agree with you that the ads that the sportsbooks are creating is a little too much.
As much as I like looking at scantily clad women, it is not going to make me sign up with a sportsbook because of that.
A little bit of creativity with the ads would definitely work a lot better than showing T & A.

Whats annoying is the 6+ schedules I get in the mail every day,and the cold call I got from Grand Central Sports I got begging me to bet with their 15 cent baseball line.

Not to mention gcs daily e-mails.I guess since I signed up for a 10dollar slot club test drive, they think I owe them something.

Personally, I'm not offended in the least. Considering the alternative, I am pleasantly pleased. For almost 20 years I has to put up with the ugliest mug staring at me in my schedule-JIM FIEST-

Porn no, but suggestive women--absolutely. Let's not kid ourselves, the gaming industry is borderline subculture.

Where are the Asian women in these ads? All I see are Caucasians. And if J.R. Miller wants to regain any credibility in this forum, he needs to start getting Pamela Anderson into some of these ads. That way we'd know the guy has true Hollywood clout and isn't just a blow-hard.

                BarbWire Sportsbook, that'd be cool

Think only you US boys suffer the nasty telemarketing. Must be too cheap or can't work out how to call here

Maybe they feel by using scantily clad
women to entice you, you guys won't
mind losing your dough to them??
I guess it's better than looking at
                  some fat chick......

Agree with RailBird, GCS goes a little
overborad with the daily e-mail promos.
Gameday sends me a schedule at least once
a week it seems. However, nobody is worse
than NASA. I don't know why they send me stuff, I've never played there, or
                  contacted them.

JC, although I enjoy the ads, I have to agree with you. The industry as a whole gets bad publicity from this kind of advertising. It helps to keep sportsbetting in the same pile with phone sex, porn, etc.

JC, it must be frustrating to fight the fight only to have a bunch of simpletons pull stunts like these.

For what it's worth, I do not use books that use that kind of ad. This is not a moral stand. I just don't want my money in the hands of someone who thinks I'm a single-minded moron.

For me, the ads conjure up images of middle-aged hipsters wearing gold chains as the book's managers.
