Yes Fred, you've hit the spot. Click 'Big Money and Politics'....Keep in mind, I did not start this thread and am not offering this article as proof, just interesting reading. As far as the fix factor goes, either you believe or you don't, but there's no reason to attack someone who has a different opinion, even if in your mind this person has an altered sense of REALITY. All I know is I've done very well in NBA and football by teasing down these public avenging favorites with a book that offers 11/10 on 7 point teasers, and then taking the points with the other side.....I believe in the games discussed above that neither Mich St, Ill, or ARK was fixed. Mich St's coach lost his mind for a minute(coaches screw up every week on when to go for the deuce-Shanahan, a SB winner, did it in the FIRST half(DUMB!)...but somebody should have grabbed Williams by the arm and said "Hey Coach"!) Illinois was pure ref incompetence, and Arkansas was assisted by refs who were influenced by the crowd.....But I'll never alter my assertion that Spurrier is a thief!

kicking pat is ok,cause you probably miss 2,then if ND makes a td and 2,a fg only ties, also psychlogically the defense plays tougher up 6 than 7,cause td only ties not beats you.I know most will disagree but thats ok.
Ronbets take on this game was 100% correct.often times celebrations cause a 8yd 2pt try as well.
Holmgren was correct letting Denver score Td,also last yr a college team let a td in down 1,it is a thinking mans game.

Another lame brain coach was one play from being axed yesterday. Who may you ask? Overrated and under coached Norv Turner of the Redskins. 8+ shots in the red zone in ot and uses 7 plays to fourth down to kick chip shot fg win. One fumble and Dan Snyder has a new coach today. They called it aggressive??

Couldn't agree with you more Ronbets. In a situation like that you gotta kick the field goal on 3rd down so that if its a bad snap/hold they can kick it again. WTF was Norv thinking? I think most coaches would have centered the ball and kicked the FG on 2nd down. Norv's an idiot.

This thread is full of interesting points.
As far as Steve Spurrier goes my belief was that he always chose rather or not to run up the score based on his feelings for the opponent and their coach. Previously I had read somewhere that he and the Kentucky coach Hal Mumme were friends. Spurrier it was said had an admiration for Mumme's innovated play-calling. Thus I felt safe from this kind of thing having Kentucky plus the points here. Something must have happened to destroy that friendship I presume.
Speaking of Spurrier again sure he can be a jerk but at least he is not a hypocrite like that phoney Bobby Bowden. He's the Tommy Lasorda of college football. He has loved to run up the score on the little sisters of the poor for years even before the computer ratings meant anything. I guess it makes him feel better.
Personally I agree with those who stated that the two above incidents were just examples of (1) poor decision making in Michigan St.'s case and (2) rubbing salt in the wounds in Florida's case.
