    Sonny P.
    As I stated on another forum, I like your
    style. I think I get where you're going
    with this thread. Keep it up. As far as
    the pompous asses around here, there is
    one resident runt that comes to mind.

      Zip my new friend, I have already paid you the highest compliment I know how to bestow on a sleuth. Ask your friends and see if anyone can tell you who it was that supposedly died when he went over the cliff with Moriarty. He is the man I mistook you for being.
      Sportsbank - thanks for replying and your support; I'd like to communicate with you more often;
      I want to say thanks to the guys behind BW for being patient enough with me to see where this leads. And to other readers here as well, whom I assume are not interested. But is the uniinformed I am trying to reach with this so I thank the experienced amongst you for your patience also. It is time to bring this to closure as I have other rats to trap and expose, and just causes more worthy of devoting my time to. I will end this later tonight, so we can move on...

        Ah, sorry about misconstruing the Holmesian reference, Sonny. When I saw your post, I thought it had to do with my facetious remark in another thread that I might end up jumping off a cliff in despair at the results of my choosing Wintermute’s mathematical analysis over that of the All-Knowing One. But now I get it.

          Time for closure.
          Yes, the 1st statement is from Adolf.
          The 2nd statement, of a familar view point, is Adolf Jr., otherwise known as jr miller;
          this is a dirty business this sports handicapping stuff, largely consisiting of frauds of various degrees.
          At the top layer you have your POND SCUM, the mass marketers who bombard you with ads about phony win-loss %'s;
          under them you have your BOTTOM FEEDERS - the self proclaimed watchdogs, posing as bettors advocates, preying on the unsuspecting as a means to stuff their pockets;
          then, beneath even them, hiding under the rocks that the bottom feeders suck algae off of, you will find the jr's of the world.
          If you have any family member, friend, or care about anyone who is handicapped, inflicted with a disease, or dying, or if you just plain, flat-out have any humanity in you at all then you cannot help but feel insulted and righteously indignant at his venomous, shallow, aryan statement.
          Caroline Kennedys Special Olympics and other such government funded programs are heart-felt endeavors designed to help make people not as fortunate as you and I feel a part of this great society, to make their lives easier, financially, physically and mentally. They are a beautiful thing.
          It seems to me that jr is the one who really has a handicap - constantly referring to himself as "we" he suffers from a much worse infliction than any of the handicapped I have had the pleasure of being associated with - an overbloated sense of self worth.
          I entered the fray when I saw other posters here exposing jr's handicapping ability. I wanted to expose his other handicapping liabilty - his brain, his attitude, his condescending views of the so-much-less-than-Himself world he is forced to suffer with due to his 'genius' existence.
          This is not information to the experienced among you, you already know. But if someone new came in here, and thought of trying his service, they should know who they are dealing with.
          I want to thank everyone who took the time to reply above this. I hope that after I leave here, if any of you see jr come in here with his grandiose posturings, putting up a link trying to lure people to his site, I hope, like Megans law, I have pointed him out, and you will reply with pointed fingers and shout - "LOSER", so that no one will fall prey to this bigoted, big-mouthed, charlatan. This narrow minded clit.
          Thank you.

            SP, are you saying that Mr. Miller did make that second quote? If so, can you please cite the source, i.e. in what publication Miller did write that statement?

                  I really don't know about all of this. Of course all touts exaggerate their abilities - some more than others. As far as their moral virtues - I don't think this really has anything to do with it. Do you think that Joe Blow cares whether his tout is a sinner or saint? Of course not. The only thing that matters is whether he comes up with a winner.

                  Anyway I hope this is the end, and not the beginning, of a war.

                      When zippy said the second quote was from JR, I thought "Yeah, that rings a bell". I remembered JR writing something along those lines on his web site. I wan't sure if it was an exact quote so I went back to his site to see if I could find it again but couldn't. So maybe he's removed it by now.

                      'mute

                      PS zip, can you confirm where you saw the quote?

                        My hypothesis was deduced from the available evidence, especially Sonny’s post that preceded mine, wherein he implied that the quote was from a fellow poster with whom he was currently feuding. I had no prior knowledge of Miller making this statement.

                          Sportshobby,

                          could you clarify? Do you mean to say, in the world of most people who pay for picks, this criteria of "morality" ranks at the bottom, or do you mean to say, speaking for yourself, morality is irrelevent?

                          I am curious simply because at first thought, all morality is not equal, especially if you are thnking this is about ethics, which are different because they imply a code of offical behavior related to job performance, probably unelated to JR's views. But morality is relevant because "we" support JR with our money and what does he do with that money? Why would I want to support someone who voices such alarming thoughts? We wouldn't pay taxes if our government decided to round up "the cripples" because we couldn't support such a regime. So what's the difference? I think it is relevant that this is what JR supports, because the moneys people give him are likely to go towards supporting groups who believe this nonsense. In fact, I think this info, if true, is as much relevant as his (in)ability to pick winners. At least, this is what I'm thinking about this individual case, and I don't now if I'd behave consistently across equal situations but different people/scenarios.

                          sorry if I'm misinterpreting you, but I'm finally having a slow day, so I thought I'd pipe in...

                            Chilly, you made me stop and think, which is good. I never planned on sending JR any money anyway, so it wasn't about my judging his character.

                            I just doubt that his customers care what kind of a person he is. Hopefully I'm wrong about that.

                              What an odd topic. This turned out to be a plea to the squares of the world to not use JR Miller because he's got morality problems?
                              Maybe that means more to some of you who are more "involved" in the business than us squares. To me (speaking as a square), JR Miller is just a name I've seen post up an opinion to a game a few times. I didn't sense any moral problems when he asked for everyone to take Miami under. Perhaps this runs deeper because some of you see him as a person rather than just another poster.
                              To be honest with you, if I knew Charles Manson had a website and was consistently picking 60%, I don't think I'd have a problem listening to his opinion on a game. If people were to pay him for his opinions, I wouldn't consider them "morally bankrupt" for doing so.
                              Just .02 from a square

                                Now wait just a minute Tampa....The first time this Sportsbetting Industry gets a "whiff" any immoral or unethical things going on, we should take action. Otherwise, this industry could begin to get a bad reputation and generate things such as:

                                1. Boiler Rooms filled with high pressure sales people calling at all times of the day pressuring some bettor into purchasing their service to receive their "top" plays only to find out that not only are those plays bad, but you need to pay extra for those really "premium" plays dished out on a bi-weekly basis. I can see it now, they get you signed up, extort your money and then when you are done with them they pass your name onto their other "partner" companies and anyone else willing to buy your name in order to call you endlessly.

                                2. Offshore Sportsbooks that become a fly by night operations and never get around to paying their winners. Imagine books that begin to change the rules/regulations as they go with certain clients when they begin to win.

                                3. Mass Mailings - Can't you see it now, service operations and sportsbooks sharing client information. Every day at the mailbox you receive unwanted information in regards to "Saturday will be the biggest day of my life" or "My 20,000 star pick goes Sunday (now that's a lot of stars!) - and enough sportsbook schedules in the mailbox to repaper your basement with.

                                Although I agree with Mr. Palermo that the statements above are terribly wrong (having a cousin that is handicapped myself), we should learn from this these type of statements so it doesn't happen again.

                                I'm sure glad I never said anything that could be labeled as stupid or naive and have to live to regret it!

                                Think before you speak; now that's one to grow on.......thanks for your time Tampa!
