If you read the past posts about him, he is a part owner of Tradewinds or Badlands. I'm not sure what they call it now. I think he is also partners with Jim Feist. What a pair they must be. Scamdicapper and stiff.

In defense of Gary Austin, did you ever hear the axiom 'turn around is fair play'? When 1b umpire Larry Barnett blew the call that cost the SL Cards the '85 W.Series, Gary was literally robbed of a high 6 figure wager. To get even, Austin robbed you and I of our post ups and winning ducats at his joint. That's fair isn't it? To this day, I can't understand why he doesn't visit Vegas much anymore?

When Austin pulled his fake robbery and closed his Vegas book in the mid-'80s, I got stiffed for the money in my phone account. However, I heard that more than a few guys threatened to kill him, and they got paid.

The Rx guy has an article on his site talking up Tradewinds. He says it's really swell, and mentions that players should rest easy because Austin and Feist are backing it. The Dink obviously feels it would be impolite to bring up anything about Austin's past bookmaking exploits, or to mention the inherent conflict that arises from one of the world's most prolific scamdicappers backing a sportsbook.

I had a phone account with Austin in the 80's. Fortunately, I had just made a major withdrawl before the "robbery" took place. He was able to stiff me for about $2500.A few years ago, opened an account with Tradewinds, not knowing that he was one of the owners. When this news was imparted to me, I quickly got him on the phone, provided my account number and asked him about it. He said "I am under no LEGALLY obligation to pay" and "wished me good luck". What about a MORAL obligation, you JAGOFF?? I torched his ass that year before closing my account when he started that "2 books in 1" scam that was supposed to offer dual lines on all games..Whatta *****!!!

                  NHB,

Thank you I stand corrected. Barnett blew the Armbrister interference call vs Boston in 1975.
