  • Ripped Off by NASA, am I wrong here?

Last week I made a Nascar wager on Dale Jarrett. I made one bet for 1100 to win 1000 at 3:27 pm on September the 2nd. I made another wager for 1250 to win 1000 at 11:47 pm on september 2nd. Note the line has moved 15 cents. The bet was a winner. I check my total on Monday after the race on Sunday and my account has been credited the 2000 for the win. Today I find out they have taken 1500 out of my account and are saying that they have a 500 dollar limit on Nascar. This is BS. No where on their website does it say there is a 500 limit on nascar. I made the bet over the internet. The website allowed the bet so I had no idea I could not bet that amount. Twelve times this year I have bet more than 500 on a nascar matchup and never has a word been said about it. Most of the time I bet 3 or 4 or 5 matchups that I like and spread my money around. On this particular day that I made the 2000 bet this was the only bet I made with NASA. That is why I bet 2000. It was the only matchup I liked, so I bet more on it. Considering they have let me bet more than 500 all year and did not cancel the wager before the race, how in the world was I supposed to know the limit was 500. THIS IS INSANE. If they would have just put the money back in my account before the race and told me "hey we only want to take 500 on a matchup." then I would understand and would have said no problem.
If the wager would have lost would they have taken my money? YOU KNOW THEY WOULD HAVE TAKEN MY MONEY AND NEVER SAID A WORD.
I have been with NASA for 3 or 4 years, but they will never see another dime of my money. Becareful one day you may get ripped off like I have. Am I wrong here? Because I cant see how.

Live and learn! Do you know why they can do this? Because they have enough customers, that pissing a few off doesn't bother them......is this right? Hell no!

morgan131, NASA definitely screwed you. You are not the only one they have burned. I encourage you to post your complaint on the other two watchdog sites that are advertised on the Don Best site. People don't seem to care that the book they use rip people off until it happens to them!!! A couple of years ago NASA refused to pay a player after he won a cool half a mil. Spread the word, people need to know the truth about NASA!!!

Morgan, if the book stiffs one person, they'll stiff another. I am sorry for the screw job they put on you. But I just don't understand why people can read all the stories about a book like this, and continue to do business with them anyway.

Krackman, you have defended this book in the past - will you be next?

Even NASA admits stiffingd a winning player for 500 dimes (allegedly because he was a Billy W. beard - although both the bettor and Billy have denied that).

Everyone thinks, "Well, NASA won't stiff me because I am only a small player ..."

Folks, the problem is one of character and integrity. A thief is a thief is a thief ...
Well NASA has now stiffed a big player and a not-so-big player ... who is next? (Not me since I would never to play there.)

Someone has to pay for all the massive advertising expenses of NASA.

On these facts NASA is simply a "no pay" and if confirmed by Bettorsworld should be sentenced to the Clink. Period.

The fact that they aren't advertising on this site should speak volumes. BTW, Morgan you're right - you were screwed.

I'd be curious what Mr. Shrink and his cronies have to say about it since they are his biggest advertiser by far and away. My guess is any post there would just be taken down.

Stick to the books listed on this site and you should be safe. Jeff and Brian do their homework before they accept advertising $ from books.

Morgan I was thinking about it and I have a suggestion. Why don't you figure out every time you bet more than $500 a week on NASCAR and lost. Calculate all the excess and demand a refund for that amount. Obviously if they are stating they won't pay you because they have a $500 maximum then they must refund you any amounts over and above what you bet on NASCAR.

They can't have it both ways. Any decent book who realizes they made a mistake like that would refund the amount you "weren't allowed to bet".

BTW, I checked out Stocksandgambling.com, hoping that maybe there was something about NASA on there but it's now a site for the Will County Humane Society.

                  I dunno!

                    Hartley or Morgan,

I don't know if this helps, but, I think you meant **************.com. It has threads for several books, nasa being one of them, but appears to be unused.

                      Morgan131,

First of all, according to "there" rules you still should have been payed 1000 seeing how you played two seprate lines. Looking at this from a Customer Service point of view, they should have told you the first time you played NASCAR that there limits are 500 and that should have been the end of it.
I am sorry to hear that you got burned and further more I'm sorry to hear that there are still places out there that are giving Offshore Sportsbooks bad reps.

                      FATTY

morgan131, NASA has responded by saying that you were told your maximum bet would be $500 on Nascar and then you went on the internet and exceeded your maximum. Therefore you were not credited with anymore then your maximum bet of $500. Care to respond?

Yes Mojo I would love to respond. That is B***S***. Nobody from Nasa ever told me my limit was 500. I never talked to anyone at NASA because I always place my bets over the internet. The only time I ever talk to NASA is to request a payout. And by the way, in trying to resolve the situation over the phone with Jeff the customer service mgr. I said, that I would have to go to this site and others to tell my case to other players and he hung up on me. I called back and mentioned posting on this site and others again and he told me if I mention the internet and message boards he must hang up. And he hung up on me a second time. That is when I said forget it my money is gone. Believe whom you want to beleive. My question is still this, if I would have lost that 2000 bet, would they have said you exceeded our limit so here is your $2000 dollars back. The answer, HELL NO, they would have taken the 2000 and said thank you very much.

Nasa not only keeps your winning if you happen to play a game that moves on the Don Best screen they steal your upfront money. When I bet them on football they said no limit you can bet all that in your account if you want. Then I won and now they kept my money because I wise enough to know a couple moves before the happened.
